Ah yes first time I went straight out the door second time I jump out of a window and passed out on the balcony . My buddy has save me from near death twice now turns up just at the right moment. I like how the missions are presented & the two choices I get - buddy gives you another choice how to complete the mission so I went round to the buddy's hideout and picked up a nice sniper rifle for the mission then I got the fights on the way to the mission, steal a jeep or take a boat to avoid the fights get the old flame thrower out and start a huge fire to keep them back. It has its faults the AI are a bit stupid at times, they will flank and hide for cover where other times they will just stand in the open & they are crazy drivers! Still so far this game is bloody amazing

can you make single player maps in the map editor:hmmm: I just spent few hrs making a map only to save it and find out there is no single player option. Just multi player. Farcry you could, Farcry 2 multi only. The posts ive read online are dated 2008-2009 just wondering if they enabled SP map making for the editor by now & I need to dl some update or is it still not an option. What a bad move not to allow SP map editing. :damn: Hope FC3 will go back to SP maps for the editor.

I believe I read somewhere that Ubisoft has removed it's DRM and made Uplay less obtrusive.

According to Reviews, it is now with the option to tick offline mode after the initial boot up.

Im still thinking of getting it for PC, can anyone confirm the graphics level and reccomended requirements for PC version??

2.3 GHz i7 3600Q

with 16 GB Ram

and a 2GB Dedicated nVidia 660M GTX

I want to get it so A) I have a good shooter to play on deployment,

B) so far Ive seen the PC graphics look amazing compared to 360

I have to say this is one of the best games of the year. Definitely the best shooter of the year.

Even on the PS3 version the graphics look superb(although funnily enough pre-rendered cutscenes look bad compared to the in-game stuff(Absolution is the same way).

I've put in a good 12 hours and still have a lot left to unlock and do. I spend more time hunting or taking over Pirate camps than I do actually playing the story.

Although, that's not the say the story isn't good, It's actually fairly interesting and worth going through.

My only two complaints are

The upgrade system -You can't upgrade the "bottom" tier weapons. Despite the fact that they would be upgradable in real life. These include the AK-47 and 1911 knock offs. The AK47 has a weapon slide, yet you can't put anything on it. Almost every gun offers a "upgraded" magazine size, except for the bottom tier weapons. Also when you do upgrade a weapons magazine, it doesn't show up on the actual gun(yet the scopes and silencers do). Finally most guns are locked at 2 upgrades, so while you can have a larger magazine, your choice between two different scopes, and a silencer, you have to choose 2 out of the 3. Bit silly that you can't have a silencer, scope, and larger magazine.

The Health system- The healing animations are a bit slim. In some cases your character will bandage something he just bandaged a second ago(and the bandage will be missing). Although on the more serious injuries you get gory "heal" scenes, like in Far Cry 2.

Another small problem is that the AI drivers are kind of horrible, but that's not uncommon for open world games, and doesn't really detract from the gameplay. As the game is somewhere in the Pacific, you could just make a joke about Asian drivers.

Not too many games let you go hunting with grenades, or accidentally set a field on fire because you launched a grenade launcher at a group of enemies.

The AI also seems to be pretty good. They fire at your last known position, and if you're sniping with a silenced rifle, they'll investigate where they think the shot came from without magically knowing where you are. It's quite easy to disappear into the bushes like a silent predator.

You also get extra points for stealth approaches on the Camps, which is a nice thing.

First there was the haka, GW2, now Farcry 3 the moko (facial tattoos) and Kia ora greeting (hi) what next will be taken from us and thrown into a game, yeah they have tribal tats, they greet in Maori and are of course they're the bad guys! :stare: :D.

I haven't play FC3 yet but i just might buy it now.

Kiwi gamers are buzzing about the latest international video game - but not because of its technological advances. Far Cry 3, released last week, features an island populated by characters with moko, distinctly Kiwi accents and a generous helping of "kia ora" greetings to the main character as he roves around.

"For Kiwis, that's probably the first thing that jumps out at you," said Gerard Campbell, Fairfax tech and game reviewer. "When I started playing it, I thought, heck, that seems like a Maori accent.

"And when the well-known phrases pop up, you think clearly they've used Maori as an influence. I'm sure there's even a few ‘bros' thrown in there."
Many of the islanders also have tribal arm tattoos and some have facial moko.

The guys with the tataus are the good guys. The bad guys just look like pirates.

are you playing on pc? What requirements would you reccomend if you are? (hardware requirements I mean)

Spike88 12-05-12 06:56 PM

I have it on the PS3, but I figure if the consoles can handle it, most mid range computers can too.
