Well, I've set up the Gaming profile to activate with SH3.exe as a trigger... so it should turn off Aero plus a ton of other stuff it it works. :yeah:

I do like it better than Gamestop... actually I think it might have been called Gamebooster? Can't remember. I think I only used it once then dumped it since I couldn't see that it made any real difference.

Gamebooster,used to turn off certain functions to free up more memory to your computer.

Ugh, bad news for me at least... went into the game and got three screenshots, but it froze up on the 4th attempt and I had to go into task Manager to shut it down. :wah:

Haven't tried with Fraps yet.

I'm curious to see how Jimbuna does, he has more RAM than me if memory is in fact the issue.

I don't know if it is related, but I have random freezes in several programs.
Not just SH3/4 related.
3D Max craps out now when doing massive UV work.
I have to reboot do a bit of work, save and reboot again.

I don't though, but SH3 is probably the biggest drain on RAM of anything I run on a regular basis. I was in a GWX version of the game with all my mods running just now. I'll have to try again in stock, if I'm able to take screenshots consistently there without freezing up I suspect it will all come down to memory.

Installed fraps and the screenshot facility is working fine but not the movie (unable to playback the recording) this doesn't bother me much because I don't have my movie compression software installed on this system yet.

I've noticed there is a newer version of fraps available for W7 so I might pull that down soon :03:

I should note that when I loaded the game on that test run, I did not have anything checked in the Properties under Compatibility... I was only using the Gaming profile from AMD Fusion and I may have misunderstood how it works or maybe checking the box in the .exe's shortcut still makes a difference. Will have to try again to be sure.

@FITW, is there something that needs to be done with AMD Fusion to insure that a profile "kicks in" when you start a particular app? Like something you click to tell it to start up when Windows starts, for instance? I enabled Smart Profiles for the Gaming profile with SH3.exe as a trigger, and assumed that doing so would result in the profile being activated any time I started the game, but I didn't really make sure that was the case by alt-tabbing out and checking. I couldn't find anything in the UI that made it look like I needed to click on anything else other than setting up the profile with the right trigger.
