@joea

Ok, i'll start with Coroner:
They officially disbanded in 1994, however they are still listed by wiki as current.
And that is because they had a reunion tour as recent as 2010 at France's Hellfest.
However, nothing has been heard since from them.
They only released 5 studio albums, with Mental Vortex and Grin the last 2.

Let's take you back to 1988, with the song Masked Jackal, from the album Punishment for Decadence:

next on the list is: I want you (she's so heavy) the Beatles cover song, man these guys nail it! Big Time, love this rendition:

Now we fast-forward to 1991 from the album Mental Vortex, with a song called Sirens:

True class, and for a 3 piece they put out a heavy heavy sound.

Onto the album Grin, which was their last in 1993,
Paralyzed, Msmerised from Grin:

and one of my faves of theirs:
Caveat (to the coming):

As i'm sure you'll agree they have a very distinct sound, and i'll leave you to digest this offering until i introduce you to Helloween. Happy listening.

Right now its REM, used to listen to them when at university, and forget about them, but have sort of "re-discovered" them. Still sound just as good first time I heard them.

I use to listen to them, losing my religion was an old favorite.

My favorite is Ensiferum. I love a lot more folk melodeath bands, but Ensiferum has been my favorite almost since I know them.

The truth is that, like several others, I have no real favorite. I have a very large collection on my computer now, and have them organized by release date and listen to them in rotation. I'm currently in mid-1962, and listening to Bob Dylan, but it ranges from 1707 (Bach Cantata) to the present, and is always growing. Of course sometimes I get a jones for one or the other and put it on, but mostly I listen to the next one in line during my morning Subsim jaunt.

At the moment, I'm switching between Fear Factory, Hybrid, and Little People.

FF - Cars
and yes, that IS Gary Numan.
(side note, the drummer, in almost all of their songs, is an absolute machine. I've never heard anybody keep rhythm with such a complicated drumline)

Hybrid - Keep It In The Family

Little People - Breathe Again (feat Rachael Roberts)

Slayer.
The old school part of it. Mainly this one actually I'd say, that is pretty much anchored in current affairs of some country. Erm.

I used to really like them, but recently that's getting less and less. I feel they kinda betray their fans by delivering more and more pop-like songs with every new album. I'm still prepared to call them a "good" band, but they're not worth of being called Metal anymore:nope:

Besides the earlier mentioned Ensiferum, I love other folk metal bands like (in no particular order) Equilibrium, Moonsorrow, Eluveitie, Amon Amarth, Heidevolk...
And also many melodic death metal bands like Norther, In Mourning, In Flames and Dark Tranquillity.
Apart from folk metal and melodeath I listen to almost all other metal genres as well, a lot of black metal (Burzum, Windir), symphonic metal (Epica, Nightwish, early Within Temptation), power metal (Sabaton, Sonata Arctica), gothic metal (Sirenia, To/Die/For, Trail of Tears) and heavy metal (Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Judas Priest).
Besides metal I listen to many other rock genres, mainly psychedelic rock (Jefferson Airplane, Jimi Hendrix), punk rock (Flogging Molly, The Offspring) and alternative rock (Muse, The Cranberries).

Basically, how much I like music is proportional with the amount and heaviness of the guitar:O:
