Dotted circle round a target....
 

When you have spotted a target and then click on it in the nav map a large dashed circle appears. Is this its visual range ??

There are several circles and I don't know what mod you are playing.

In GWX, the outer circle is the visual range. The inner circles refer to active and passive hydrophone ranges. Naturally, I do not have a contact in my area to confirm this on.

I love that you are asking questions, but you can just use search and get these answers in minutes.

a) the Newer boats become available. Click the [?] at the bottom of your upgrade screen. It shows the dates of new toys come online.

b) Be in a flotilla that gets the new boats. I don't know these off the top of my head, you'll have to wait for somebody else, or check on your own.
