As for your "lit/unlit" comparison, that's exactly what I was going to say. You not only stole my name, but my words as well. :O::rotfl2:

Hi
I checked the periscope/UZO stations and could not locate the flag maps.
Can someone post a pic maybe, and show where to find it, I found the other maps no problem.
Also F1 shows a help guide for button shortcuts and not the Enemies of Germany.

I would love to see these so maybe a kind soul could help me out here.

Thanks
john

:salute:

There should be a little tab or button looking type thingy up in the top left corner, I think it says "Flaggen" or some such.

Are you using GWX?

Hi,
yes I am... but am using hitmans optics mod as well...would that have something to do with it??

I will take a screen shot of it and post it...maybe I am just missing the tab...

john

Here is a screen shot of the periscope,
The only thing that pops up in the left hand corner is the command posts etc
I just cannot locate the tab for the flags...is it because of the hitmans optics

And the UZO

Hitman's optics may have moved it to somewhere else in the GUI, I can't imagine it's not included. :hmmm:

If there's a manual for the mod you might want to double-check there, or in any documentation that came with it... or ask in the Mods Workshop, there might be a sticky thread for that mod, I can't remember.

Thanks Frau

Just to finish off my part in thisthread. I got this reply from Hitman in the Mods section:

Yes they are no longer there, but theoretically could be added back. In any case, that is an old mod and was superceded by my GUI, with many more features and which you can download here at subsim.com

Well, that explains why I lost my flag pull-down. I thought I was mis-remembering.

I also am using Hitman Optics. I use them because if you use the Hi-Res mod, when you click out of the periscope/uzo the mouse will land on the fire button and launch a torpedo. I needed a mod that moved the fire button, and Hitman did the trick.

Looks like you loose the flag pull-down though.

Guess we cant have it all ;) but the optics are exactly what I want in the game as I like to have the solutions to hand rather than going to another screen, maybe one day Hitman will redo this and add them in :hmmm: or write a block of script we could add in ourselves....time to start praying :D

There's got to be a way to add it back in, it's just a graphics file that needs to be in the proper folder and (I'm assuming) referenced correctly in the menu ini file. There may be more to it, but surely it's doable. If it can be taken out it can be put back in. :yep:

A workaround would be to find the flaggen.tga (I think that's the filename) and open it in a graphics program where you can print out a nice copy to keep on hand when you play.

Or print page 95 of the GWX 3.0 Gold manual ;-)

True, is it in color in the .pdf file? I printed mine out in B&W so I never think of that as a source for flag IDs, I tend to look for colors first and emblems second.

Yeah but it is more cool to have a drop down on the screen isn't it..:yeah:

Maybe I will ask Hitman if it can be done...or does he know the block of script that needs to be added.
