New Kriegsmarine Grid Conversion Tool
 

Hello all, there is a new conversion program http://grid.nylle.de/ which will convert all grid squares to latitude/longitude and also the reverse. The output includes the type of square (regular or irregular), corner coordinates of the square and data on the height and width, and a Google Earth Map of the square. The tool includes a discussion of the Kriegsmarine grid system and the considerations that went into the development of the program. One interesting insight is that U-boat navigators did not convert mathematically, they only used charts.
