OK, here goes. These are my settings.
In this first image, the "Information" Tab you can see that it does not inherit from any other profile but is a top level profile. http://img242.imageshack.us/img242/1011/profilexp.jpg I have left out the "Services" Tab because it is just too big and there is no new info there that hasnt already been discussed In this next image, the "Programs" Tab, the only thing to notice is that the "Auto Shutdown" box is checked. I did origionally try to set each program but simply checking this box is much simpler. http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/120/programs.jpg Under the "Optimization" Tab, the important selection is the "Pause processing" selection in the drop down box. I have set the Defragment Memory to repeat 4 times, just a personal preference, I dont think it really needs that much, it is useful through if you have a really slow machine by todays standards. http://img841.imageshack.us/img841/9...timization.jpg In the "Auto start" Tab, obviously you can set the programs from the "Add" button, however you can edit them by simply double clicking on the line itself, the line will highlight, in this image you can see that the nHancer line is selected. http://img405.imageshack.us/img405/1295/autostart.jpg This will open up the "Edit Auto Start program" dialogue box. Increasing the priority of the propgram has no effect because as already discussed SH3 Commander closes for the duration of SH3 being on. http://img831.imageshack.us/img831/9...artprogram.jpg The "Log File" Tab is irrelevant, I have never needed to log anything with regards to AlacrityPC There you go, hope it helps. |

Just to clarify some incorrect assumptions here, SH3Cmdr DOES NOT load SH3.exe. SH3Cmdr.exe loads a file into memory called SH3CTSR.exe. This 17kb file in turn loads SH3.exe AND REMAINS IN MEMORY. It does nothing* while SH3 is running, but as soon as SH3 closes, it reloads SH3Cmdr so it can automatically rollback (if option selected).
So it is imperative that any memory management applications do NOT disable SH3CTSR.exe, as doing so will effectively break SH3Cmdr from cleaning up after itself. *I did have some grand plans for SH3CTSR.exe - for example, it could be used to intercept practically any SH3 operation or memory address, ie it could be used to fix the missing WO or any other number of things, however, I lost interest, so all it does it monitor whether SH3.exe is open or closed. |
Alacrity Clarity
Hey Sailor Steve and Jimbuna, thanks so much :salute:
JScones, thank you for putting us right, your explanation explains much. So flag4, therefore AlacrityPC does NOT disable SH3CTSR.exe, because SH3CTSR.exe only goes into memory AFTER AlacrityPC has finished closing everything else, after which SH3CTSR.exe then loads SH3. So any settings you change in SH3 Commander will be loaded together with SH3, ie they are not affected by Alacrity PC which then also sits in memory awaiting your command to restart everything which it will do when you press "X" as already discussed, note: restarting AlacrityPC wil have no effect on SH3CTSR.exe, so you don't need to worry about SH3CTSR.exe exiting before SH3 Commander has rolled back, no matter when you press "X". |

but it all seems to be running fine now. the only thing is my desk top wallpaper pops back up just before it switches to SHCommander, other than that all services/programmes seem to be shut without any glitches, so far!!. pressing X appears to make no difference. when i have finished i just press Enter on keyboard and APC starts up again by starting all the services etc.. i hope this does not affect information gathered by SHCommander from my game. again, many thanks flag4:salute::DL |
