Ive added a number of mp3 files to my gramaphone, along with the GWX stuff ive also added some complete film soundtracks such as Gladiator,Star Wars, Lord of the Rings Return of the King and Master and Commander to name but a few.
All are played at random thanks to SH3 commander and it suprising how often the music lends itself to the situation i find myself in, The battle scene music from Gladiator gets the blood flowing when your locked onto a target and a destroyer is bearing down on you.

My Fav track for leaving harbour is the opening music from the film Battle of Britain. Can any one help as to how I can get the band on the quay to play this? Mind you it may mean a slight delay in departing the dock as I stand on the bridge waiting for the track to finish :)

You need to replace "Fanfara_01.wav" in the SilentHunterIII\Data\Sound. Take your song into Audacity (assuming you are starting with an MP3), mix it to mono (may take some amplitude adjustments to reduce clipping) and export as .WAV. To keep file size down, convert it to 22k hz.

...that seems confusing for people who don't know how to use Audacity. I'll try to get that file up for you.

I added some Wagner (of course!) and play it when stalking something. "Ride of the Valkyries," anyone?

Already in one of my earlier track lists....really good.

IIRC the game will accept files in .mp3 and .ogg formats - the general consensus seems to be that .ogg files are more stable and work better when played in-game.

The Gramophone folder also takes .wav files with no problem. I don't recommend them simply because they are so much larger.

Yep, and I even recommend converting larger .mp3 and .ogg files to versions that are smaller in size if it's possible to do so without losing enough sound quality to be noticed much in-game. On my system at least it just makes things run a lot smoother.

Same here. My computer doesn't hate me as much as usual if I have lower-quality .oggs.

I have the default GWX songs but I've mostly added modern music like country and techno since WWII era music isn't very appealing except for a few select British and German songs.

Really? I listen to what they listened to, or to me it just doesn't feel right.

It depends of every particular music taste, but I prefer Rammstein songs and other non related stuff in my mp3 player and not in the game.

Exactly its all in the taste of music, game play wise I'm learning to be realistic but the music is one thing I won't cave with. Oh forgot to mention Celtic Woman and currently in the process of adding their Christmas performances to the gramophone.

AW crud, I also made it but forgot to upload it for ya. Sorry.

U777 11-20-10 01:53 AM

Anyone know of any WWII era German holiday and Christmas music? I gave the music a shot and I'm starting to like music from that era a bit more.
