I can't remember what option I choose for vsync, but my rig barely runs SHV and I think if I leave V-sync off it jumps, like every second it will jump to 60 and then down to 8. makes the game irritatingly unplayable. turn it on and then it stays at a nice, jittery 9 fps.
EDIT: might as well post my specs. 2.4 dual core processor ASUS AH3450 512 AGP (my MoBo is from the jurassic age) 3 gigs RAM thats as much as I can remember from the top of my head |

Just my two cents... :DL |
So 60 fps is the sweet spot huh ? Modded or unmodded ?
With this cheap build I want to get a base fps with all things checked. Then I'm going to mod it up and see what fps it gets. :D It will take some time but I will post the numbers as I get the feel of SH5 Stock then Modded. To those that jump to the bottom of a thread and post without, knowing what this topic is all about :haha: Read my Cheap Build thread in Hardware\Software. |
Sweetspot? That's just the max; V-sync limits FPS to screen refresh rate to avoid tearing. Most LCDs don't go above 60Hz.
* getting 45-65 on bridge in bunker, 60-75 in CR. GTX460, unmodded game, windowed. http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/j...5-28-59-85.jpg |

My primary gameing rig doesn't have and never will have internet connection, antivirus or, alot of other things running in the background. So it's hdd will never see these two games. Btw. I only play Flight, Racing and Sub games. |

Edited in some data that will hopefully be usefull in your comparison. *btw, "affordable budget" does not compute with 16GB RAM. :O: |
I couldn't help myself. :haha: That I admit was a little extravigant.:DL The mobo will handle it and, I can always use it as backup on other rig.

Certainly won't hurt. Never a bad thing to have some spare RAM. :yep:

Well you could always have gone with 8gb and you would've been able to spend $120 more on a better CPU or Graphics card.
IE: for just $50 spend more on the Graphics card you could have gotten a nice Nvidia 460GTX 1gb that would have given you a way better peformance in SHV and Rise of Flight then that HD5770. HunterICX |
