No i had him follow course. he had me run into land inside the canal. like when i clicked on the navigator and told him to (Plot kiel canal outbound. it ran me into land. no joke the plots were like in the land I thought that it was a glitch and the canal was actually bigger than what the map suggested. I was wrong.. shortest career ever didnt even get out of the canal.. although I dont see how my men would ALL be dead, just the Uboat would be ruined :)

I refer the right honourable gentleman to my previous comment...
I hate the Kiel Canal :wah: My thoughts are with the relatives of the crew who couldn't paddle 20m to shore. And good luck in your next career :D |

Nope. But while were on the topic of other mods that go well with GWX. or GWX extra mods. what are some others you reccomend?? I particularily would like the Clothing mod that makes their clothing more realistic (sweaters and such) and uhm I fixed the problem with the Black skies, even though I had SH3 Commander on auto rollback, it was the fact I had mods enabled while the game was in the Program Files x86 folder, I took everything out and reinstalled to just base C:/ drive
But the kiel canal thing isnt a big deal for me. its not like I get attacked during it and later in war (incase planes show up over friendly airspace, I may just go around the long way. submerged :P Im off to play a patrol now and see what I can get :yeah: |

Coming back through is only slightly more tricky. there is a green spot with Kaiser Wilhem Kanal Einpunkt or something like that (it's been 20 years since I learnt German) near the western entrance. you need your last waypoint to be exactly on this spot before using the plot kiel inbound commnand. do this and you should be fine, (land proximity considerations as before) |
Ahh thank you! very helpful indeed.

no problem, glad to be of help:salute:

As of right now I am getting my new U 19's feet wet (diving her for the first time, I got out of kiel and am annoyed by TC stopping every 15 seconds because of (ship spotted) at least I wont need it until I get to enemy waters (AN81) so I am going to run her under thewater until I make it close, then MAAAYBe surface hopefully my career will be long and fruitful :) im hoping to test GWX's damage system out soon and see how she works

depending on your realism settings, you may run into trouble with this unless you're got the "unlimited batteries" ticked, (not sure whether there is an "unlimited air" box too) - basically your sub isn't great at travelling long distances underwater early in the war as you run out of battery power and air .
do this set 1024 TC, go make a cup of tea and you could come back to another dead crew!! later in the war, you get snorkals which allow you travel submerged at a shallow depth, but I think you said in earlier posts you were in 1939.. finally, it won't solve your issue of dropping out of high TC, as your hydrophone will pick up sound contacts better than your watch pick up visual ones, you would need to unman the hydophone station to make this plan work. better plan is to use the "start at sea" option in SH Commander and that way you will miss most of the traffic, although that does mean you can't use the kiel canal unless you plot it manually |
I have unlimited all. I am working my way up on the realism scale first, first things first is learning positioning and evasion, then addding the realism in bit by bit. ;)

well, that's what makes SH3 so great, you go at your own pace.
I still can't give up my auto-targetting, whenever I take it off, doing all that extra work myself just reduced how much I enjoy the game |
yup. Im getting ready to sink my first merchant now :) however I wanted to put electric Torpedoes in the U boat and forgot :O how stupid of me.. I think Im going to use impacts since the last report I got was from a U boat saying how his Magnetics exploded early.
