That would be really cool, but I am not so good with FPSes.

No ones perfect. :03: Arclight hadn't really played anything online, then he got bunched up with people from here and now he's playing plenty of games online with peeps from Subsim. :yep: Like Oberon would put it: Great success! :yeah:

Those are free mods for RO ;)

For another cheap tactical game you guys may want to check out the Insurgency Mod for HL2 engine. Many of the original development team are the same guys that started Red Orchestra. The play feels alot like RO did before the addition of vehicles, and of course is set in the modern Middle East. (the teams are US Marines vs "Insurgents")

It is definitely more "pick up and go" then Arma, but still has a good tactical shooter feel to it.

Oberon 09-04-10 05:12 PM

I concur, it's been a while since I've played insurgency although it is a nice game, I didn't know it was done by the same guys as RO, but it makes sense, it's got that feel to it. I recall playing as the Insurgents and facing up against a two man US sniper team, they were good...but they were using the in game speak to communicate, I approached and dropped behind a wall, and then threw a smoke grenade at them. "Hey, where did he go?!" suddenly come over the chat "I can't see a damn thing now!"
Unfortunately as I ran towards them to give them a taste of AK...the smoke dispersed.... :dead:

What are the system reqs for insurgency? I guess my old FX 5200 would be pretty sorely taxed?

Not the whole team, some of the same people. The Lead on RO left to start Insurgency, some went with him and I know of at least one that went to work on America's Army. With both games though, I doubt there are any of the original guys left.

@Pinguin, I would guess the requirements are the same as HL2 since it is just a mod for it. Mods can tend to be a bit more FPS heavy then the base game though.

System requirements
Minimum:
1.7 GHz processor,
512 MB RAM,
128MB Video card,
20GB available Hard drive space,
DirectX 8 level graphics card,
Windows 2000/XP/Vista,
Internet connection

As for name I'm not good with names but maybe I'll coin one out . . . .

whatever the next fellow suggest :O:

Arclight 09-05-10 07:24 AM

Dangerous Waters is certainly something I would agree to. Dowly mentioned it as well a while back. :hmmm:

Raptor1 09-05-10 07:27 AM

Dangerous Waters could be nice, I think.

Oberon 09-05-10 07:38 AM

DW is awesome :yeah: With or without LWAMI? :hmmm:

Takeda Shingen 09-05-10 07:58 AM

Oh, I'd sign on for DW.

Weiss Pinguin 09-05-10 08:26 AM
