Damn! I was hoping this story would have a happy ending. I read it one post at a time, occasionally thinking, "Why are you encouraging him to attack? He has no scopes!" Forget about the convoy, if you are lucky enough to survive just head to the nearest friendly port. I had to agree with the others after reading of your predicament, you were toast. I've been in some very tight straits and somehow survived, but not always. It's the knowing that you can never every say with 100% certainty that you will beat the game that keeps players coming back for more. The odds are stacked against us and the war only becomes more challenging as the war drags on, year after year, until 75% of our comrades are dead, missing or imprisoned.

Fortunately and unlike in RL you have a second chance....simply reload the game.

Should have blown ballast flank to surface, man all guns and head directly for ramming the nearest escort. If you survive all good, if you don't it's a better death than waiting for the pressure hull to fail.

It certainly was a realistic carreer end.
