To Gordon: As for excuses to keep playing... I ran out of them when I heard a roar from my girlfriend (girlfiend?) followed by the VERY dangerous: "We do not talk anymore".

Since then I prefer to save A LOT. :-)

btw: nothing about my problem with electric torpedos on impact and high seas exploding prematurely?

Sounds like a new thread to me - how to placate the wife/girlfriend/significant (?) other...:hmmm:

Naaaah, I've been intrigued about my electric eels since post #1, but I think the girfriend/wife/other issue could be more important in the long term. ;-)

I guess I'm the rare, lucky guy, who has a very understanding wife. I have two brothers, both of whom have spent weeks at a time away from wife/girlfriend on fishing trips. My wife is comforted by the notion that I am not out fishing, hunting, strip clubbing, etc. As well, I don't smoke, drink or cheat on her. I suppose, in comparison to other husbands that I stack up alright.

Ah yeah real weather fix. Mixed em up! :88)

As for the torpedos pre-detonating my guess would be that electric are slower than steam so they've a longer time in the water to have an opportunity to premature. That's just a stab at it, mind!

Wife-wise, I just get pitying looks and called sad these days. :rotfl2:

K-61 you are indeed rare...

Thx gordon, it must be the heavy seas and the long run of the electric torpedos... I try when possible (no esocorts, dark night) to aim ad 500 - 800 m, but this time it was at 1.300.

I want to get rid of popeye

How do you get a custom avatar; donation or experience?

K-61 08-06-10 08:22 AM

Never mind; just read the FAQ. Although I have donated to get the GWX mod when it first came out, I'm happy enough for now to work my way up the ranks. Unless I get that dude who looks like one of the Village People.

Your avatar changes according to postcounts, but Onkel Neal is always welcoming to cold hard cash to help run the site, donate via paypal and pm Neal asking very, very nicely that you'd like your own avatar (and rank- depending on how much cash you throw his way) - there are some restrictions, i.e. it must be roughly a seafaring theme.

Check out this (dated) thread:
