Sorry yes, I did go off topic there.

Either wait for W_Clear's red sky environment mod, or you could use a pair of rose tinted glasses to view the morning sky. Using an environment mod may cause problems, as there will be the inevitable argument over whether the sky is the right shade of red. One guy who used to be a shephard for 20 years will say that it's exactly right and some other guy who says that he used to be a part time shephard during a summer holiday will say that's it's completely wrong, so you can never really tell. Then some other guy will point out that it's actually spelt 'shepherd', maybe post a dictionary definition and that any real shepherd would know that, therefore the opinion of the first 'shephard' doesn't count (but interestingly the second shephard's opinion still stands). Then people will post some photos that show vastly different morning sky views to support to accurate/inaccurate view. Then a new thread will be started about the redness of the sky...

You know, it's pobably best to stick with the rose tinted glasses for their dual action of both literal and metaphorical rose-tinting. Even if it doesn't look good, you'll remember that it did.

And thus, the WIP thread of many a mod has been explained. Seriously, you just described every one of them that I have ever seen.

No problem, and all apologies for my earlier cynicism. When you get a minute could you please post a link to an official announcement from Ubisoft? That way we know for sure. :03:

The answer is in the game manual on page one hundred fourty-two, paragraph six, line three, word eleven. :arrgh!:

Now that's the best bit of comedy in this entire thread. :D

Krashkart made the original wisecrack, merely to complain about yet another thread about an already overworked subject, and after Jimbuna complained for real I'm the one who grabbed that ball and ran with it, so you you have nothing to apologize for. This thread deserved to be derailed right from the start.

As to the rest of your post...:rotfl2:

Oh, you meant the death of SH5! Well, umpteen may not be enough, you know.

+1 is always better.

Or so I've heard.

Steve? I think the +1 thing is referring to sex...at least that's the context I've heard it in. And hey, with no worrying about SH5 it allows me more time for that +1 thing. As for the color of the sky? I wouldn't know I was facing toward the ground.

I miss those manuals. They were an adventure in and of themselves. :DL

Sorry if we're all a little jaded but after the 300,000,000th "UBI suxs" post , well we've kinda seen it.

So - back on topic , If there is a red sky at night , I cant leave port on a Friday? Do I also need a permanent connection to the sea ? Or is there a mod for this now?

Yes, indeed. There have been enough arguments over the game. It's time to move forward. That's really all we're getting at. :yep:

Technically, you should stay in port on either occasion. There is a way around the red sky; simply purchase a lower-end KrashTech video card (on sale now for $1500 USD) and red skies will be rendered in a ghastly neon vomit green color. This is not due to the cheap electronics we use to manufacture the Kraphtech video cards. It's Sailor Steve's fault. :O:

There are mods that help you get around the problem of being permanently connected to the sea, but after much testing we have found that these mods actually keep you permanently connected to the mainland even after ending a gaming session. And don't look at what is left under your pillow after installing such a mod. :D

Umm, I'm afraid it's kind of hard-coded. There is a workaround, but it has the side-effect of making the sub stay in one place for the whole patrol. So far this bug seems to be unfixable.

So where's the free copy you promised me for lending my name to your work? More to the point, do I want a copy?
