I was somewhere in the region of 16 year old when it was released.

I travelled to Newcastle, 10 mile away via train to see it and remember getting offf said train on return home at about 23:00 on a dark rainy night.

I RAN MOST OF THE WAY HOME :DL

I find all so called 'horror' flicks to be tame, certainly nothing out there to give me nightmares (now, maybe if I'd watched it as a teenager I'd have run home!) (...in fact, if I'd watched anything in Newcastle I'd have run home :har:)

You can only try it for yourselves, and if your lass is into the genre then it'll be her thing.

Good one, friend!

Well, blockbusters ordering is... well... failing like usual. Probably have to see it next weekend. Damn.

If you want a film that doesn't involve gore and is actually scary, try "The Haunting" (1963, NOT the god awful 1999 version).

Agreed, I like the original, in fact I got it! The remake was a load of rubbish.

Final verdict:
We watched it today. Wasn't very scary, but thats obviously from age. Also intentionally humorous at times, but she loved it, so by default so did I. And its all worth the 3 hours of making out afterwards.
