I also realize that not everyone reads all the boards as faithfully as I do. Again, I apologize. I had trouble with SH4 myself until I finally got a new graphics card and memory upgrade. |

to Sailor Steve: No hard feelings!
Is there a guide (I think in vanilla SH3 there was one ingame) which defines the renown I get per ship sunk? I didn't find it in the GWX 3 manual. |
I think you want the file GWX_renown_updated.pdf, which I have but I can't remember where I d/led it from. I can't find it on Jimbuna's Filefront page but my eyes could be going wonky in which case he will most likely provide a direct link to it.
Didn't find anything in Downloads here either with a quick search, which doesn't mean it's not there. Anyhoo someone's bound to know where to find it - if not, you can PM me with an email address and I'll send it this evening. |

You da man! :yeah:

Thanks Jim, that's very handy to know!
25 for a lightship, all that easy renown and I've always just passed them by... :wah: |
Aren't lightships the ones that are kind of like floating lighthouses, to warn other ships away from danger spots? I never sink those because I figure they're helping out every country's ships, whether friend or foe.

Lightships are classed as Environmentals ingame and are therefore indestructible. That is also the reason there is always a small tug or other next to them so that the lookout will call it out. |
yes i found this out after running into one. sunk the tug and started throwing all kinds of torpedoes at it and it never sunk. i was peoed because i had no more torpedoes for the rest of the patrol lol. to the guys who are against getting SH5 based on the internet. i purchased it and did not want to either based on the internet connection required but i did anyways. it tells you the only reason it requires that is to back up your saves. so if you don't have the internet connection i believe you can still play the game and the next time you connect, it reups the saves with the server and it also states that if they decide to drop the server they will have a patch for it. i will say though that if you plan on getting it make sure your video card and system is well over the requirements for it does take a huge toll on your system.:salute:

http://static2.cdn.ubi.com/logos/ubi...ptional-US.png Unless Ubi has changed something that is not reflected in official game specs and marketing, you must maintain a constant internet connection to play the game. The savegames backup has indeed been hyped by Ubi as a presumably invaluable "feature" that the constant connection allows for - but it is not the reason for it, which is DRM pure and simple. AFAIK if there is currently a way to play SH5 without a constant internet connection, it would be through illegal means only (and discussing it here would not be looked kindly upon to say the least). |

Yes, I suspected that when I wasted 3 torpedoes and 50 cannon rounds on one and only managed to set it ablaze (and get an headache myself) without sending it under the waves. My wrath then turned to the tiny fisher boat, that went down with 5 cannon shots projectiles. |
