Hey, your walking on both sides of the street mate! But since I couldn't stand the Bushies, I know the feeling.

I wouldn't want my fate, the fate of my people, the fate of the southern part of this country in the hands of BP. I would have gone and I would have called up the people we've been talking about... are there people that are better than BP? YES. Are there people that are FAR better than BP? YES. Give me the people that are the BEST! after all i'm the president of the United States i can get anything i want! I want them here now! and [Obama] has not called any of these people!"

That can't be a quote from rudy. He did not mention 911 once. :nope:

Similar thing is happening in my country. Mud with oil and gas gushing out in a place called Sidoarjo east Java covering factories and homes. Little has been done to try to mitigate this. Nobody knows how long the mud is going to continue to flow. The land has begun to subside 0.5 to more than 14m due to the sheer weight of the mud on the surface. Some people argue that it could take hundreds of years before the mud stop flowing. Each day it's believed 100,000 m3 of mud is flowing out. It's a major man made catastrophe and little is being done. It's been flowing out since May 2006.

"Obama the advocate of off shore oil drilling doesn't care about the poor black people of the Gulf area." See I can play that game too.

Oooo Can I play too? :D

"It's the Gulf of Mexico's fault for bearing oil in the first place."

"I blame it on the fire. If the flames had made the proper decision not to impinge on any of the steel structure, the rig would not have sunk in the first place."

"Gawldangit! It was the crawfish I tell ya!"

Good, eh? :DL

Dude dude dude! Obviously it was those ebil republican dinosaurs fault for decomposing into oil. If they'd just said No To Fossilization we would be all safely living in the stone age and wouldn't be concerned with such modern troubles... :D

:rotfl2:

Blasted right-wing dinosaurs anyway. The left-wing dinosaurs were just as loopy, though. Neither could fly straight, and were constantly accused of flip-flopping onto the issues. If only they had evolved enough to use both wings at the same time... :DL

Except that's a different game.

The oil spill starts. Obama lets BP handle things, which is what conservatives want. BP fails. Now conservatives say Obama shouldn't have let BP handle things?

It seems like it's just criticism for criticism's sake. Or hypocrisy.

GoldenRivet 06-17-10 11:26 PM

yes i believe the government should stay out of the private sector.

I also believe that once a member of said private sector causes an ecological disaster of epic proportions... the "Gumment", to some degree, must get involved to protect national assets and interests.

I know it confuses the hell out of you but its simple.

Perhaps we need to give this president a pack of smokes, a particular brand of malt liquor and sumthin' to poke on before he can function on any sort of decision making capacity.

Well, we now know where you stand.

gimpy117 06-17-10 11:48 PM

Oh of course. The republican party...His harshest critics... also the party of "privatize everything" is now saying the government should handle this one.
(or is it because this too fits their agenda of obama bashing?)

Sounds just like what has happened. Perhaps you should give him a call as you have all the answers. I'm sure no one else has even made any suggestions so far. That's just a poke in the eye for laughs.

All disasters have these same characteristics, the sad part is people forget the lessons too soon and get complacent. What earthquake? We haven't had an earthquake here in thirty years!

At least BP is getting stuck to the wall. Exxon :arrgh!: payed out $15,000 compensation to the people who lost their businesses after 20 years of corporate BS. :stare:

Anyway, off to bed.

Face it, the Obama administration was slow to react and has accomplished little if anything since. If this were Bush you'd be frothing at the mouth far worse so quick crying crocodile tears now that the shoe is on the other foot.
