Interesting, according to the EULA modding might be considered illegal, and yet one selling point for this game is it's modding capability. But then, if all the saved games become property of Ubi Scam (Soft, sorry) then are they stealing others' work (ie mods) by laying claim to any that are used in anyone's game via online save?
It begs another question, if I don't change the contents of the disc iteself, but, after loading the game onto my machine, does that count? I'm not changing anything that I purchased, only some files on my own machine. Is the EULA legally laying claim to a portion of my PC? I mean if I wanted to use something to enhance the performance of this game on my machine (read, that which must not be mentioned) and therefore install that something on My machine after legally purchase of the disc, that becomes an illegal act? A mere download of one file (non-pornographic) placed on the HD of my machine makes my machine contraband of an illegal act. So the game is legally claiming ownership of a portion of my PC and Ubi, by it's EULA, is claiming ownership to all mods used by the online save aspect of this game. I never read the EULA because I don't have any intentions of doing anything illegal. Just use the game on MY machine and that's all. Maybe I'm breaking a law just using this game and therefore shouldn't.;) |
i do get it, but why is it an unusable product?
i have sold steam accounts, i have sold lots of other digitally obtained games, i have sold mmo accounts, they were all usuable, so please tell me what makes this one so different to all the others?? |

Also - why would I buy your "used" copy for £10 , when I can buy a new copy from Amazon for £12.99? And the Amazon copy comes with a disk lol. |
look, i didnt start the thread to discuss, eula, or whether its legal/illegal to sell this, i just thought this might be a good place to offer someone a chance to buy it a bit cheaper, £10 is cheaper than £12.99 at amazon, plus you dont have to wait for the postman, you can be playing it within the hour. had i have known it was £12.99 at amazon i would have sold it even cheaper.
but seeing as we are going down this moral road, of right and wrong, so ubi will lose out if someone buys this from me instead of them, well, ubi has lost out because if this is the fuss that gets kicked up when i try to do this, i will no longer buy their products. lock the thread please admin |
