IMHO the majority of complaints relating to the need to be on line before you were able to play would have easily been overcome if they (Ubisoft) had incorporated a similar requirement to Steam....the ability to play single player offline.

No no you all are missing my point.

Previous releases held a 'noise level' both pro and con for several months. Just general game chat, tactic discussions, workarounds etc.

SH5 had a tremdous thunder clap of noise at launch which quickly died down to a dull murmor many of which are repetative.

It just appears to my untrained eye as if the 'noise' quieted much much faster than previous titles.

"Noise" does not mean negative or positive rather its both.

I think all the negative 'noise' were so put off by the game, they just went away. That's why it's so quiet.

The video game industry is the only business i know where selling broken products has become the standard practise. Or atleast the quality is going down. The reason is the greed of the big publishers, that push out unfinished products and destroy or buy out all competition from the market.

But the markets dont lie, if they are making good money this way they have no reason to change. The situation compares to if we only had different fast food as an option for going out to eat and no five star places.
When there is sufficent demand, someone will deliver.
Im not sure if the situation is that we dont have enough demand or there are too few good cooks cabable of providing this.

I place my hope on improving technology that i hope will make game development easier and less expensive.
That would cater for the smaller niche market that many dissapointed SubSim members represent.
