Do I hear a challenge? HunterICX |
No, just a pompous ass flapping his gums.
Running ultra graphics setting (all maxed), textures on high ("need" 1GB card for ultra), 1280x960, never seen it go as low as 30FPS, ussualy falls somewhere between 35 to 60FPS. Framerate fluctuates a bit with environment though; think they still have some room to optimise performance. *oh right, 8800GTS512 About 40% CPU usage on average on Q9550@ 2.87GHz, 1.2GB RAM used. Just a quick test at the start of a skirmish, but should give some indication. *ah, didn't see any control for anti-aliasing, which is, quite frankly, retarded. Not a lot of jaggies, but no way to reduce it either unless you force through driver. |
Feature that truly impressed me, something rather rare:
You can set different devices for audio and voice, like you can for most voice communication applications (Teamspeak, for example). Doesn't make a difference for most, but does for some like me. Audio from the game comes over my soundcard and out the speakers, while voice goes in and out over my headset plugged into the on-board soundcard. Keeps things nicely separated. Also, you have volume sliders that override the volume when recieving voice, dampening music and sound-effects to make sure you can hear it clearly. Very nice features. Most games don't really bother with a good sound engine. |
Happy buyer, comes home with package
reads box ''Completamente en Castellano'' aka ''Dubbed over in Spanish'' *walks outside* http://www.michaelaquinn.com/wp-cont.../05/fffuuu.gif but there's hope...it seems if you register your product you are able to download a full client version or perhaps at least language packages if they are available. honestly, that the game industry can't just release a multi-language version of their games. or at least the courtesy of having the original version or the dubbed as a option before you install it. HunterICX |
Dunno if Imma be getting the game (would probably fry my system), but the soundtrack sounds truly epic. The title track sounds like Medal of Honor and Command & Conquer mixed with a bit of Star Wars for good measure

Ow and anyone planning on getting SCII thru the Blizzard Downloader, here be a tip, go to View->Preferences and disable the peer-to-peer thing. This results in *MUCH faster download and your internet doesnt get bogged down by the outgoing traffic. :salute: *MUCH as in from 12hrs down to 2hrs. |
Man... I got the game from the midnight opening and started installing it. I couldn't stop playing and I have to make up a excuse for a day off from work! :har:
