After drilling a bunch of holes in the hull, Ubi launches it's latest creation.
Slide, slide, slide. Glug, glug, glug. The band goes home and has a beer. |

Here's an idea. Why don't you try to do a little thinking on your own ?

So, all people which pre-ordered game will be final testers for us...
If SH5 will be a catastrophe you can: * wait for add-on or fan mods to SH5 * develop and play Danger of the Deep * play with modded SH4 * play with modded SH3 But at this moment wait for SH5 - maybe this game will be not so bad or be playable after modding? I'm worried too that UBI have not published some information about game yet (for example manual TDC). Experience with UBI shows: no info = bad info. Now game is or is very close to production / releasing process and I expect a big, final announcement of SH5. If not... Well... I do not have to have SH5 as the first - will wait for colleagues opinions on this forum. |
re the release of SH%
In honor of the imminent release of SH5 I've just reinstalled Silent Hunter 3 - trying to get a handle of the new and recently released mods as I’ve been away from the SH3 forum for a while -
Too bad about SH5 but then I always thought it was odd for a major games publisher to continue with a series that’s clearly only ever going to cater to a niche audience, surprised it made it to SH4 - not a criticism of the game or the publisher - just an acknowledgement of standard publishing practice these days - Some great new SH3 mods are on the way or just updated - I’ve seen enough of SH5 to know its does not represent an improvement on SH3 - IN MY OPINION, even without the DRM. By the way - For Australian members - EB Games is running a petition to get an R rating set up for games following the recent debacle with Aliens V's Predator. On the subject EB will be selling Aliens V's Predator without any dumbing down in Aust Apparently because the Aliens blood is green - not Red they were able to get it past the idiot censorship board in South Aust - The petition is worth signing - Though possibly a bit late if games publishers continue to dumb down games for 'wider appeal' - in the end they're going to be so childish you might as well read a good book or buy a pet hamster Interestingly the release of Aliens V's Predator roughly coincides with the release of SH5 - so you do have a choice - That is of course unless Aliens has a DRC or similar plastered all over it Regards to all Rascal |
Gotta agree that the shambles that is game classification down here is just plain stoopid. But then it's run by a government department so why would it make any sense?:O:

edit: I want to appoligize jeffg if I sounded rude. My point was, make your own decision. There's more than enough info and polls around here to base a yes or no on a purchase. |
