"wasn't having your flag lit up at night a rule for neautral ships though, so for them it'd be o.k. right?"

You are right there, to avoid any nasty sinkings of Neutral shipping.
It was also necessary for hospital ships to be floodlit (Im sure someone will correct me if im wrong and please do).;)

(edit): I used to hate it when I would spend absolutely ages stalking a single merchant at night in SH3 only to find that when it came to actually firing a screw, I would then notice the dreaded floodlights!!! =( haha

I thought you meant this one...I only see the two previous released, on the super mega official UBI website page...

Nah, this one mate.

To be really finicky and picky - Flags have a rope running through them, with clips at each end to attach to halyards. That way, if hoisted correctly and made off tight on the cleat they flew tight. The flags shown here are too large and attached at 3 points - they look like washing hung out to dry with 3 pegs attching to a vertical washing line.

Thats some knowledge youve got there MLF. I didnt know that.

But youre right, they do (and always have) looked like mommas bloomers hung out to dry!!:D

It May have been different in WWII - instead of metal clips at the ends of the rope that goes through the flag, there might have been an "eye" in the ends of the rope. The halyard would have been attached to these "eyes" using a bowline knot.

Nah targets will either have a green outline or a red one so you know which ones to shoot at.:D

Sgtmonkeynads 02-06-10 05:56 AM

That would be awesome !! As long as my sharks with lazers on their frickin' heads can see color.

To get even more picky, that's the Rodney's camouflage scheme and not the Nelson's. But of course they're saying it's a Nelson class ship, so it's technically right. :O: But that flag is ridiculous.

Might be a product of the viewing angle, but the bow looks too short when you compare that image with the real photo.

Excellent looking model
Flags size can be modded, stop 'rivet counting' you guys :O:

Schroeder 02-06-10 09:41 AM

I believe that the flags in SH IV have already been way too big, at least on the merchants. :hmm2:

piri_reis 02-06-10 09:45 AM

Nice model.
Minor thing: Would it be sailing/battling with the stairs hanging on the side like that?

I am 99.9999% it wouldn't. :)

This is IMO a bigger problem than an oversized flag which will be edited with first mods.
