Things I see as game breakers/makers for SH 5(exludes DRM, talking gameplay stuff here) are

German voices(least optional) with the text still in english.

crews in appropriate places.Hated in SH 4 how the dive planes were always manned, even when on surface, the helmsman was in the control room. Now U boats are different but need to be in correct places.

authentic german sounds such as dive alarms.

few to no bugs

no huge historical inaccuracies or omissions

plenty of ships....face it, SH 4 stock did not have enough

no bs like the constantly spawning planes in SH 4 stock.

smart/capable escorts, no pushovers.

no dead zones in places where should be plenty of traffic.Always killed me how SH 4 stock had no traffic in places like Sea of Okhotsk, Marshalls, Gilberts, Carolines etc Although in the ATO, want traffic where it should be.

Already pretty pissed the war ends in 43 and only one type of u boat, just upgrades over time.Thats just cheap if you ask me.

I hated the U boat patch because it kills immersion when your german crew are speaking english, give me an f'n break.Do what the modders did, german speech, english text in the box if desired, simple.

Hopefully, it won't stay like that for long. If it does (beyond release), maybe it will be an indication that SH5 wasn't really what was expected, and now that would be really bad. :nope:

Well, even if it's all new code (binaries, executables...), external resources could stay pretty much the same without functional problems, and since SH4 was the last sim to come out, they got its resources, being it the closest thing at hand to use. And I totally understand it. If I wanted to get something working fast, without having to nitpick sounds and all that stuff, I'd get whatever I have in store, even if it's wrong at first, and then correct it later, maybe before release. But details like that, which are normal of unfinished versions, shouldn't darken the functionalities behind them. :DL

Or you could just blame Ubi for the DRM. :rotfl2:

In vanilla game it was most likely to kill a ship by HP other than sinking but mods gave HP=99999999999 so the only way to kill a ship was by sinking.

I'm guessing the same for SH5... arcade HP=0 kills for ships until there is a mod. UBI thinks we are all impatient and won't buy a game unless every ship hit is a big orange fireball like the movies.

I am hoping there will be a realistic mode in the options that has compartmental based flooding, etc. They can put all of "arcade" features they like in the game as far as I am concerned, as long as they can be turned off with a realistic option in it's place.
