Eh - I don't mind celebrities pitching in to help with disaster relief as long as what they do actually helps someone. If it becomes clear that they're only doing it for publicity, or getting in the way and causing more trouble than any help they bring is worth, that's another thing.

And to be fair about them getting all the publicity, it's not like the media doesn't play a big part in that by choosing to showcase their efforts just because they are celebrities. Of course they are going to get press when they show up in such circumstances, because of who they are. Doesn't always mean they are not genuinely trying to help out, which they have the same right to do as anybody else.

Sure, some celebrities might be doing it for PR, but others are not.

It's not easy to see which though, because no matter what their intentions are the media will be all over them.

If their help actually helps, then good on em.
