The above would suggest a game save within a 50km radius of said vessel which would cause said vessel to loose its waypoint and act in the manner you are describing.

Limitations imposed upon us by the game engine I'm afraid.

Mhm.. It could be it if I ever made a save at or closer than 50 km to the docks. Save was never done on this particular patrol, nor I did saw this vessel leaving the harbour on my approach. I docked via ESC after hitting the subnets and when I wanted to leave the harbour on my next patrol I found out that this Vorpostenboot heads straight into the wall, stops and keeps staring at it, thus failing to do escorting job..When you say you've checked the waypoints do you say you have teleported yourself to Lampedusa in game and you didn't see this happening with your own eyes ? There realy is a problem though.

This is how it looks in daylighthttp://img25.imageshack.us/img25/9638/stupidship.jpg

The above photo is a perfect example of how a vessel behaves when it looses its waypoint.....steer in a straight line and slow down before impact, then repeatedly attempt to inch forward.

There is no solution....you'll just have to live with it and move on.

zulus 01-17-10 12:17 PM

If there is no way in fixing the loss of waypoints maybe somebody could add Lampedusa into subnets/mines map ? This could be very helpfull :( Because I never know when I might need to dock there again in emergency cases and doing that blindly woud be too much risky task to take..

Jimbuna 01-17-10 12:29 PM

That would be a possibility...perhaps a layout with all the Med ports.

Until then, simply refer the the screenshot above or access the mission editor and take a cleaner picture.

It's going to be tricky, I'll have to memorize the look of the harbour and nets, minefields location before starting the game. Rez fix disables alt+tabing, thus preventing from second glance when it's time to make a turn and I like external cams off for the immersion.. Don't want to take more damages by hitting the bloody net again or in worst case mine, but at least I have a clue what and where to expect now.. Thanks Jimbuna, wish me luck :)

Good luck Kaleun http://www.psionguild.org/forums/ima...s/thumbsup.gif

So I successfully left the port.. :) I also was monitoring Vorpostenboot strugling to get out of the harbour over my binocs. On his third attempt he managed to escape the wall but then he found another trouble in his path: http://img46.imageshack.us/img46/8639/sunkedbynet.jpgIn this picture he was probably brushing a net with his starboard side untill he sank himself.. :) (He is just behind that Hansa freighter on the picture)This event surely explains why there is no escorting vessel around this harbour and why we need mines/net map updated..

Have witnessed a beautiful RAF bomber attack on Lampedusa. GWX rules!:yeah:

zulus 01-21-10 04:28 AM

So is there someone around to take it and fix it ? I mean "fix" is to update mines/net map with Lampedusa.

zulus 01-24-10 01:00 PM

Very well.. So far I see no one is actually interested in fixing someones faulty ploting error, maybe GWX3 support period is expired I dunno.. But I guess I've learned my lesson that I would like to share with others is: If you find an obvious bug that is not coverd in GWX manual, keep it a secret and don't complain about it too much or ask someone to make a fix on it, even if it can be easily implemented, cuz sooner or later you'll be told in the most famous phrase when supporting is out of luck to "get over it and move on". Personally when I hear these kind of answers these words feels like my worst enemy..Ok I promise I will no longer bother anybody with my "meaningles" GWX related BUG foundings since anyway NO ONE REALLY CARES. Thank You.

I can't say I appreciate your attitude considering the number of posts I have created in offering advice and help.

Now....one piece at a time:

What plotting error? Do you know this to be a fact?

There have been approximately 25 posts on this thread and EIGHT 8 of the responses are from me.

That is quite correct....you don't know.

FYI the official support has stopped but some of us stick around and offer what support we have time for....check some of my previous posts.

You are bang out of order there....care to show me where I post such a phrase regularly?

If your going to quote me then do it in its entirity without cherry picking the pieces that you believe change the context to what your after....the full sentence if you please, the one giving the reason and the rhymn...

The above is what was typed and included the explanation that it was not fixeable.

I have attempted to replicate your problem and have investigated the campaign layer, even to the extent of posting a screenshot.

Unless you can give me an exact date, time and location I am unable to do any more.

You could also consider sending me your campaign folder and I would, once armed with the exact information I mentioned above be able to insert it into one of my test installs and see just what is the cause for the phenomena you are experiencing.

But I do suspect, like at least one other on this thread that the cause is human error by way of a game save, a corrupted file or something you have added that is interfering with the game install.

Zulus

I think that Hansa ship isn't default GWX3.
But I'm not 100% sure.
What mods do you have enabled?

Wreford-Brown 01-24-10 06:52 PM

zulus,

jimbuna has just been voted 'most helpful member' by the subsim community and he goes out of his way to try and help people out. People here generally want to try and help but not every problem has an easy and/or quick solution.

Very few people have used Lampedusa as a starting base (it's the first time I've heard of it being used) so you may be experiencing a problem that no one else has had. Be patient and help us work your problems out.

If you can let us know your mod list and the date you had the problems we can try and replicate the problem to see what's causing it and hopefully come up with a solution.

Yeah Lampedusa is first time used island for docking by me, but I had to use it because of heavy damages I took from airplanes. I can asure you that my mods are no how related to the issue I've been describing and showing in screeshots. And I realy think it is a human error of ploting the waypoints of exactly Verpostenboot in this harbour as I described in my earlier posts I just wonder why Jimbuna doesn't want to believe it, but rather to blame user for it's fault of saves or whatever. I can say it's not true, since how can you say it's save related bug if I just started the new patrol from Lampedusa and I see such things inside the harbour ?. The first it meets harbour walls and stucks but after few backward attempt he brakes through then he keeps raming an antisubmarine net with his starbord side untill he sinks himself. The year I was docking at Lampedusa is 1942 but I can not tell the precise date but it was deffinetly there at late summer or early autumn.
