Ridley Scott - Yes!!!

Russel Crowe - No :nope:

It will be a flop cause of Crowe, dont get me wrong i loved his acting in Gladiator, 3:10 Yuma and State of play to name a few. But running around as a poncy Robin Hood with a bow helping the poor. I wont stop laughing! :DL

Scott's version wont the be usual "happy guys living in the woods singing songs and helping poor peeps" RB, but a more darker one (I think one could use Dark Knight vs. earlier Batmans as comparisation). Obviously, the plot will be about revenge, Robin comes home and sees his father hanged and his lands taken, then we see Robin drool abit on his dead father's grave (see gladiator) and then hack n' slash until the Sheriff is dead, ow and that other guy. Real king comes back, gives Robin his lands back and he then goes to shag the lady whatsamacallher.

Personally I prefer: "Robin Hood - men in tights" :yeah:

Cracks me up every time.

I remember the first time I watched it. It opens with a song and dance, and I think to myself: "What the hell is this CRAP!!!!!!"

But I gave it a few more minutes, and ended up loving it.

Prince John: And why should the people listen to you?
Robin Hood: Because, unlike some other Robin Hoods, I can speak with an English accent.
[referring to the then recent blockbuster Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, in which Kevin Costner played the role with an American accent]

And on another hand, I dont think I've ever seen the director's cut of the Gladiator. :dead:

Last night i watched Blade Runner, directors cut in blue ray, at my friends home cinema, it was really great.

So basically it is in fact Gladiator II. Hundreds of years have passed, Maximus has forgotten his past, and has rooted his new life in the Dark Ages to kill the English- like Mel Gibson (twice, Braveheart and the Patriot).

Robin Hood is English.....

Also I think Russel Crowe will do a better Englishman than Mel Gibson doing a Scot. How I hate Braveheart............Unfortunately people round the world seem to base their Scottish history on that one film.

At least Robin Hood is a was he was he not kind of character.

I know this is going off topic but after Braveheart and The Patriot I couldn't help but get feeling that Gibson doesn't like the English, almost like he has an axe to grind.

Which one - Director's Cut or Final Cut...? The two are not the same.

I know that movie for almost two thirds of my life now, and must have seen it 30-35 times, I know every line spoken and could act in any role in any scene and know every gesture and every motion and every facial expression - and still it gives me a shiver when just remembering the sounds, the looks, the music - or that rainy gloomy evening when I saw it the first time ever in a small, dirty Off-cinema in Berlin. I was still at school and had to smuggle myself through at the desk, due to the age limit.

Must be some kind of an obsession, i admit. Only very few things I ever strolled over, have had so much influence over me in my life.

I meant was he a real historical character or not? Did he exist or is he an amalgam of several guys from that time in history.

Now as for the wearing tights things and his sexuality. Well that is a different story.

Robin Hood, Robin Hood and his merry men,
Used to lure their enemies back into their den,
Knock them out and tie them up for a bit of fun
Then take away their trousers and take them up the bum.
