No, sir. There's not a problem that needs to be addressed.

I should apologise, I misinterpreted your initial post http://img142.imageshack.us/img142/2391/bubblegum21.gif

That's OK, but a Chief of the Boat doesn't have to apologize to a seaman.

:salute:

Wasn't the direction from Bdu to attack all darkened ships without warning? If this is the case, then you should have attacked. I adjusted my settings to give zero renown one way or the other for neutrals. The "Ship Spotted!" delay was causing my cruiser to blow up more ships than I intended.

Yes. That's why I attacked in the first place. But when the lights came on, I wasn't sure what to do. So, I took off.

Consider it a shot across the bow.
Actualy, as it turned out, the deck gun was a good choice.
It won't sink anything in 1 shot, and gave you a chance to "examine" the target more closely.
A single torpedo would probably have cost you negative renown.

Wow. A uboat stopped a freighter with gunfire, to examine his papers, right outside of Scapa Flow. Now that's a daring commander.

Well done, from BDU.
