Affected companies are less and less "America's" or "Western" business - the one point you seem to miss. ;) If you have lost 40% of your company and your partners can veto any decision and form deciding majorities by themsleves, you are not in a position anymore to claim you are the ruler in your own house. Not to mention that some (some means: some) of these new partners are associated with circles funding religious fanatism, Muslim terrorism and landtaking.

Oh Skybird, your just showing your bigotry.

Don't you know that allowing these companies to invest in major sectors of our economy builds their trust and restpect? Don't you know that they will become our friends, then we can all sit by the campfire and sing together?

Really, just because they could throw a wrench into our economy, create extreme hardship for our workers, doesn't mean anything

As for it being something that past administrations of both parties have done, that still doesn't make it smart or right.

Actually they are not that much about making it harder for the workers. I currently could not name such an example. But it is about control and influence - and being able to threaten indirect sanctions (by withdrawing their investement) so to make western policies bowing to their ideologic desires. Which indeed works extremly well, as we can see almost every week.

In Germany, a jailed former hate preacher has changed his mind, at least so he/they say, and hailed the "enomous degree of freedom of religion in Germany", and that in Hamburg alone there are more muslim prayer rooms than there are churches in all his home country. He said he was led on a wrong path when defending terrorism and violence, and that Muslims should take the opportunity to peacefully come to Germany and live here.

that is exactly the biggest threat I see there, I always said that, and always said that terrorism is not what endangers our societies. It is the peaceful landtaking. The peacefully growing influence of Islam that makes it impossible to resist to it, since it is so peacefully only. It just works by demographic numbers, and eroding the social security systems even more. Even in politically most correct Germany first signs are to be seen that even left politicians start to understand that the migration patterns from Muslim countries contribute only little to the social security systems, but put several times a higher payload on them, making the whole migration from Turkey and Arab and Muslim countries a very deficitary affair for Germany. that this migration helps to secure the social systems, is a modern urban myth, becasue these migrants are successful only in a minority, the overwhelming, the very large majority fails to qualify since it is social lower class, without much education, qualification, and an ever growing resistance to integrating themselves into German culture and society. Instead, cultural separatism is growing faster than ever before - especially amongst the third generation, the young ones who tend to become more radical and/or orthodox than their first generation grandparents have ever been. Which is a sound slap in the face for cultre theorists claiming that if they stay long enough in the West, families from generation to generation become better integrated. In case of immigrantion from Muslim countries, this is bullsh!t, and we can prove and know that by the statistical numbers.

So, this former hate preacher may have sweared off violence. But that does not make him any less dangerous. He still wants Islam growing in the West, and he has understood that a non-violent influence is much harder to defend against by the West. Which makes this guy much more dangerous than somebody like Bin Laden whose evilness is so obvious that no Westerner can avoid to realise it immediately. Terror strikes we can deal with, we would adapt, we get used to it. changing demographic balances and peacefully growing influence - that is much harder to counter.

If even some left politicians (some, I say) start to realise this and confess to this opinion, then this really means something.

I now prepare to get sued for hate crimes and racism where I am about ideology and powerpolitics. :88)

But my trust that Turkey will not be allowed into the EU, has seen several opportunities to grow in the past months. :DL

In the house next to mine, a turkish family has moved in this summer, and it happened that I talked with the father several times now, and his son, and gave them a little help with moving some furniture. what ever the reason is, we both very very frank and open from the beginning on, and nobody took offence. He is very much okay. He accused the West over having made untrue promises to Turkey for so long, but he also warns of Turkish membership, feels ashamed by his people and the way the behave in germany (also telling the Germans that they are stupid to accept that), and warns the EU against accepting Turkey. He said we should have been honest with them from the beginning on and told them from the beginning that they would not be accepted in the EU. I agree with that. He says he not so much came to Germany for the sake of being in Germany, but to flee from Turkish society. He sends his son to Koran class but says that is so that he should decide himself, but he sends him also to Christian religous classes as public school, and takes care that he gets a good higher education, he really cares for his son getting good education, and manners and caretaking by his parents. and you see it in that 16 year old. He's smart, and he'S can behave, and speaks accent-free German.

I have the feeling that in his hidden way this family father may be something like an atheist coming from a Muslim country. :D He certainly is no stupid blind Muslim believer.

I would wish that many more would be like him, then we would not have these problems with Muslim migration, this Turkish father said that himself (migration from other cultures and nations tend to be zero problem, especially chinese, Japanese and Koreans tend to fit in perfectly - trouble always starts with Muslim migration).

So, one always needs to see both the general picture, and the single case. There are the few good ones, but also the failing majority. I will certainly not attack the first ones for being here. Towards the latter I have become more and more unforgiving over the years.
