Are bar staff allowed to check firearms permits to ensure that a customer with a concealed weapon is legally entitled to carry that weapon into his establishment?

In Virginia we can carry open into bars but no CCW. There have been efforts to allow CCW in bars but have not been successful.

We don't hear a whole lot about shootins in bars where they have open carry.

Umm that defeats the purpose of a concealed weapon. How would they know to check?

Well under Arizona law they have to check everyone under 27 and record their details just to ensure that they are not breaking the law before they sell them beer.
So since it would be illegal for the barstaff to sell to beer to someone with a gun or to sell any beverage to people with a gun but no permit then for the law to be workable and to ensure that they are not breaking the law and risk losing their liquor licence they must be allowed to search all customers.

Wow they make magic signs nowadays that can stop people breaking the law.
