All deaths are significant to me. The whole Afghanistan war has been going on now since late 2001 and so far I haven't heard any estimates of when any troops will get out. Or what the victory objective is. Looking at how the war in Iraq has gone I have very little confidence in the US-led coalition that Finland is a part of in Afghanistan.
Total of Iraq and Afghani civlian casualties numbers in several hundreds of thousands, maybe even 1 mil + or even 2 mil + counting all deaths caused by the wars. Those are genocidal figures. Why did they die? Are their deaths worthless? Will there be a war to avenge their deaths?
