The whole point of a democracy is that you can try to "take your country back" without using guns. Little slips of paper that you drop in a box every two/four years work much better.

mookie.

i dont understand your insistence that growing disillusionment with congress has something to do with there being a black president (oooohhhh oh my god a black guy! oh no!!!1!11)

fact is you got your beloved first black president and guess what?

HE IS A FU*KING POLITICIAN LIKE ALL THE REST:har:

Congress levies taxes... who gives a sh*t about the president?

the only thing the president does is he basically says "Here is what i wanna do... i want to tax the nation into oblivion - not to bolster our military (which i would support), not to go to space (which i would support), not to develop new technology (which i would support) - no - i want to tax the absolute crap out of everyone so that we can make sure those that dont work for a living can have the same quality of life as those who do."

CONGRESS is the one who sings such rubbish into law.

im sorry but i dont like lazy people, i work for a living

and a large portion of my wages which i personally pay in quarterly should NOT go into any sort of welfare for these bums.

i fail to see what that has to do with your God's level of skin pigment and its ability to reflect visual light.

I have had black bosses, black friends, black girlfriends for christ sake.

for every "birther" our there, there is a "racer" like YOU mookie.

folks like YOU create racism in this country - it is a perception which you cant let go of.... but sooner or later you are going to have to realize that crying the "R" word every other minute is not a sound political strategy.

A bit OT but the media manipulation did it:
Bill OReil'ly from Fox lies about Amsterdam.

At least I can tell my grand kids that I remembered when journalism was an actual profession. :nope:

By that time, they probably won't believe it.

"Come on Gramps, you mean there was a time when journalists were honourable professionals? Quit pulling our legs!"

AGREED!

People have been saying "taking our country back" long before a black man became president!

As far as the TITLE of this thread "The media is racist"

The media is not racist in fact the media couldn't care any less about race. Not unless it will make them a buck. They only want to sell "THERE STORY".

Its that simple!

Platapus 08-22-09 02:51 PM

I would not agree that the media is racist, no more than I would agree that the media is, as a whole, conservative/liberal.

I believe that that the media is sensationalist.

They will publish anything that gets people's emotions stirred up.

Stirred up emotions means revenue to the media.

"Conservative" media tries to get the conservatives spun up
"Liberal" media tries to get the liberals spun up.

If they can't find the news to get people spun up, evidently some of the media is not above just making stuff up. The end result is the same -- more money.

We are all being played like fish in order to get our support (money).

Personally I am disappointed in Barack Obama. Not because he is black but because I wanted our first black president to do well by all Amercians, instead of being the party hack that he is turning out to be.

As it stands so far his socialistic dalliances and outright lies to the American people will unfortunately give strength to those who are stupid enough to hate a person because of their skin color.

To me he is a wasted opportunity. Such a pity.

TigerShark808 08-22-09 03:42 PM

I don't think any NON white President is a wasted opportunity.

Obama is nothing more then a step in the right direction towards getting over the ignorance we hold in viewing what we see as an exceptable president.

He is a Black man that is President of the USA and yet he is a man.

Only racist IGNORANT people will see more into this.

HUMANS/MANS biggest weakness is we try to find something special in our individuality and not recognize that we all all apart of the same creature called MAN!

Good way to describe it. I will never watch MSNBC again because of this blatant manipulation of the story. This makes me ask what else is being manipulated???? Probably everything they report!

Then by your reasoning Obamas value ended the day he was elected. Significant i'll agree but personally I was hoping for more than just that. I wanted people to be able to say that Obama was just as good as any other president.

True, there is still time for him to turn his Presidency around. I'm beginning to doubt it will happen though. I think it boils down to his inexperience. He's too easily influenced.

msnbc IS TOO FAR LEFT..just as fox is TOO FAR RIGHT!

Both will not come into a situation without first trying to attack the "other side".

What is sad is that the media should not be picking sides. They should be reporting a story without slanting in either direction.

AND FOX along with MSNBC HAS CHOOSEN A SIDE!

Fox is a joke when they claim the are UNBIASED. At least MSNBC dont stoop that low.

BUT both are sad IMO!

All for the money I guess!

So have the rest of them. By my count:

To the left we have: ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN and PBS
To the right we have: FOX
