AUSGEZEICHNET!
Thanks so much for this! I have been having a problem with using the RAOBF with large ships at relatively close distance (under 1500m). I'm getting results that are off the scale of the RAOBF (for instance, ship lengths of 48 tic marks when the scale on the the RAOBF only goes to 40...d'oh!!!). This post is old, so I'm not sure you're even playing anymore, but I have a question if you ever see this: if I'm using meters instead of feet, then I should multiply my degree measurement by 16,211 (rather than 174500) and divide by range to get apparent length in meter, correct? If I do both methods (feet and meters) this is the number that gives me the same AOB, but I'm not sure why. I thought I would only have to divide 174500 by 3.28084 to get meters, but I wind up having to divide the result by that number twice to get the same AOB. Odd.
