With the hull integrity display, like a few things in SH3, there is no happy medium.

After first getting GWX and SH3Commander, I played with HI hidden but it never seemed right. Being damaged and not knowing how badly damaged seemed odd to me. U-boats didn't have a HI gauge in the control room that the engineer could look at, but he would at least have an idea on how damaged the boat is and whether it was safe to continue the patrol.

I play with it showing now. At least I can get an idea on how badly damaged I am. Unfortuneately it is at the other extreme. The information is too accurate.

It'd be nice to have a happy medium, like color code the HI somehow or something like that. I don't know if something like that is hard coded or not.

:)

I agree with Sharky here.

Correct, true ... :03:

The only solution could be in SH5. I play without showing HI because a real commander would not know the HI ... he would know the way you are writing it. The engineer would inform the commander and give him at least some information.

Can this be modded?

if the skipper goes to the head and the boat crushes well then thats dead i'm afraid.
DID dude, i've had some propper heart wrenching losses, i hide my damage display so i'm always flicking through my screens to keep up to date with info. if i have to leave the desk i make sure i know whats going on. or in the case of screaming kids i will pause the thing.

Your dead buddy :)

I am thinking of in the future if i run into something while at high compression to not call it DID because i am of course not playing in real time.
