Excellent work! :yeah: I think the rust and weather works. I have the smaller scale model (Revell) but never gave it more than a basic paint job. I've got a 1:144 scale Type XXI sitting in a box that I should start in on.

I like it and don't thing the rust is overkill at all. Great work!:up:
|
Haha, great work. The funny thing is, I have that very kit sitting in front of me that I've just finished spraying with a primer!
|
A Great Work of Art......:salute::salute:....the weathering looks just right........Keep up the great work.....:yeah::yeah:
|
Looks great!
Is this the stock kit? Did you get all the brass bits and scratch build parts and all that? Please tell me it's straight from the box! I don't have the space, money or the patience for all the detailing kits, air brushes and tools. That Zvezda 1:72 Carthaginian Quinqerime I bought would be looking a lot more tempting and achievable if you told me this was a "straight from the box" model.... |
Wheres my photo? :DL

Sorry about the delay!!
Here she is... Just weathering her up at the moment http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/m...n/DSC00226.jpg The famous flag, and those ash cans all us kaleuns hate. http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/m...n/DSC00227.jpg The bridge http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/m...n/DSC00228.jpg Spot the mighty hedgehog! http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/m...n/DSC00229.jpg Now for the display cabinet... The USAAF and Japanese/Pacific fighters and bombers http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/m...n/DSC00230.jpg The RAF fighters and bombers http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/m...n/DSC00231.jpg The Luftwaffe fighters and bombers (and a few trucks too!) http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/m...n/DSC00232.jpg A mixture of modern and old. That Spitfire is a massive 1:32 scale and is pure metal. http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/m...n/DSC00233.jpg |

Everything you see on my U-Boat is "stock" so to speak. I used revell paints and some basic different sized brushes. Used MiG powders for the rust. The only thing was I used the "Rope" on the deck gun from a coil of string supplied with the corvette. Enjoy making a model, perhaps with someone else. It's a great bonding experience. |
Sorry to bump the thread chaps, just thought i'd leave the last photo of the U-Boat as this:
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/m...n/DSC00235.jpg Approximately 1 month and 3 weeks of blood, sweat, tears and breaks and she's finally complete. I hope you enjoy the pictures. She was a joy to build. Next up, a 1944 Tiger Tank :arrgh!: |
What a wonderful collection,I'm green with envy:salute::salute::salute:

Had this model once, too. Wasn't it U-99, so this:
