I think what is changed is the radar is removed on some minor ships that 'shouldn't' have it in the first place.

Anyway, I find it hard to believe that I am the only one (of maybe a handful ) that is bothered by this no reporting of 'insignificant' contacts. If anyone is playing the stock campaign, most of these small vessels have radar and are reporting 'our' (US) boats to the AI.

No reporting because there were a few complainers who didn't want to be bothered by SJ contact reports.... lol.

Oh well - Happy Hunting!

I need to read "Run Silent Run Deep" - I've only seen the movie (about 50 times ;-)

Just checked, there are several copies available at my library, and as usual the reviews say it is better than the movie.

Thanks!

Not so much better, but completely different.

And better, too!

Read Beaches second one too, ' Dust on the Sea', it a better read than 'Run Silent, Run Deep.
As to running down life boats, I can't remember seeing or reading about that except in the fiction books but I do remember on the history channel on the color of war series a seaman on the Wahoo said that Mush Morton actually sunk a Troop Transport and than surfaced and machine gunned the survivors so they could not get ashore and get back into the war and kill Americans.

there is that question of them still being combatants or not if they are unarmed.
