I notice that as you increase TC you can hear the subs enviromental Sounds and then.... they STOP. With only 512mb of Rambus Memory and a ATI 3850 AGP 8X Graphics Card w/512mb of video memory 2.6GHz cpu the sub sounds in the background Stop for me at 64 TC. Patrols are long but...as long as I have the modders outstanding mods like radio and gramaphone. I'm just glad to be hear.

Clayp the time compression (TC) meter is in the lower right corner of the HUD.
0 is paused, 1 is normal time, and each time you press the + key it doubled the time compression. 2,4,8,16, etc. it will go up to 8,000 or some thing like that. I personally never go above 3,000 so I don't really know what the upper limit is. The - key slows TC down the same way.

As far as Daretopeek goes, I never heard of this problem. Hope he figures it out.

Daretopeek I don't think that the save file size is your problem.
I once took the wounded bear single mission to the end of the war, just keep refitting, about 13 or 14 times. I had sunken ships all over the map.
176 ships for 1,255,000 tons. ( keep a log) I don't know how big the save file was but it had to be gigantic, took several minutes to load near the end.
I never had any kind of problem with TC. The game ran perfectly and the machine I was using was not all that great. A 256K vid card and only 1 gig of RAM. AMD 64+ @ 2.41 GHz.
This seems to be a rather unique problem. Something in the install or your hardware??????? Don't really know. Hope you get it sorted out, it's a great game.
