Yeah,
There's a problem with Silent Hunter IV. The problem is that there is a misspelling on the map that needs to be corrected. Port Swettenham is misspelled as "Port Sweetenham" on the map. In real life, it was spelled Port Swettenham, which is present day Port Klang Malaysia. It was named after Sir Frank Swettenham, a British explorer in 1901.
Has anyone overlooked this? Does anyone know about this? How come Bounganville is spelled "Bourganville on the map, also?

In my post above I was referring to the name such as Islands, Seas,Ocean, etc. And the names come from .dds files.
But the OP asked about Port Swettenham and that is a Harbor and those names are in the Campaign_LOC.mis because they are added in the mission editor when you place the harbor. So to fix that IS a simple text edit. You can open the Campaign_LOC.mis in notepad and fix this line:

[MapLocation 651]
Type=0
Priority=1
Title=Port Sweetenham
Heading=0.000000
OnLand=false
ShowOnMap=true
FirstRenderStep=false
FileName2D=Small_Pacific_Harbor_II.dds
FileName3D=Small_Pacific_Harbor_II.dat
LocationName=Port Swettenham <-----Fix the spelling in this line to have it show on the map.

Doesn't show in the game. A reference to the location but as far as I know it shouldn't matter what it's called. The one I pointed out is the one the mission editor calls "Location Name in game". The other is "Name(in editor)". The one I pointed is what actually shows on the map. I have not tested it, but I don't think there would be a problem changing both, but I don't think it is necessary. Changing it in a career that has already started might be a problem, but that is untested. (at least by me)

Sometime ago Jace11 made a map labels mod for SHIV, I have a link to it, I`m using it in 1.5 o.k. There may still be a few missing names, and some errors, but better than stock by a mile.

thats what we are talking about Ivan, after using the map labels (or even if you dont) you still have the original spelling errors because jace addded more names and wasnt correcting those already there.
