:haha: A good one. Will try it today, in the empty parking lot, on the snow with still summerly tires on. :yeah:

Thank you everyone for your advices, Guess I'll be cool soon. Yesterday I was in the depressed mood, so today is better day already.

Happy Valentines Day! :)

I found that playing SH4 helped quite a bit, as did switching over to Jutland (Distant Guns: Jutland, here on the forums) helped quite a bit. Sometimes..tho, the urge will hit, it could be something minor like hearing the word "gray" or Das Boot being on TV.

The last thing that helped me was The Hunt for Red October, go figure :06:

Last summer work, and inspiration, kept me away from ShIII/GWX.
Raced GRID on-line and drove trucks in ETS (still do) and killed the enemy in ARMA.

But now I´m back in the U-Boat Waffe, meaner then ever:arrgh!:

So, take a break, play something else and report back to base:salute:

SH3 is a game.

You should only play games when you are in the mood to play a gam
You should only play a specific game when you are in the mood to play a specific game.

The best advice on this thread was to take breaks. Don't worry about the game. When you are ready you will come back. The good thing about a game is that the war will still be there for you.

Do not, under any circumstances, allow any computer game to run your life. That is a set up for disaster.

Taking a break from SH3 does not make you any less a sub game lover.

Take a break when you feel like it, come back from your break when you feel like it.

Playing other computer games is not cheating on UBIsoft (They already have your money)

SH3 is a great game. Really fun and I like to play it a lot... but it is still just a game.

You could always stay in WWII , but try this MMO out www.battlegroundeurope.com . Its a simulation of the war from 1939 to 1941 with France, UK, and Germany.

Its the MOST realistic simulation of WWII equipment and infantry units around. The world map is actually a 1KM of game worl = 3 km of REAL world. The game is so realistic that it actually simulates the round that you fire (say from a Sherman) to the armor thickness you hit (say a PzIVD), to how much angle that armor has realitive to the angle you shot from, to how much penetration that round got, to how much spall that would generate INSIDE the tank and if it hits any of the crew...

Very real... has a steep learning curve so the best thing you could do is hook up with an online squad (if you want to play allied hook up with me mrwinkie or any in the 7th Allied Strike Team or 7thAST. Website www.7tharmy.us). We would be happy to show you around the game, and I think there is a 14 day free trial.

I never care to much for learning a new game. I was new to subsims when I got SH3 and at first I couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. When my sub took damage I didn't know how to assign crew to repair.

I am now in the phase where the game is still fresh and I have a decent understanding of how to go about things. So the game for me is in what I would term its peak entertainment phase. Where I am confident in my understanding to bring great devastation to the AI enemies but not having played through an entire campaign, I still get the unexpected curve now and then.

I think I understand the original poster in that they have seen all the curves the AI can throw at them and the game gets a bit predictable. I always feel a bit sad when I get to this point in one of my favorite video games. Disciples 2 is one of my favorite games. Played it on and off for years and when it was in my peak entertainment phase, it was as fun for me as anything. But there came a time when I would play it and it was just too predictable or routine.

So the 1st phase in a game is learning it, which can be frustrating. Then you know the game but not how the campaign plays out so the game is still challenging. Then at some point you reach the point where you have met all the challenges the game can present and its more routine.

What I try to do to keep the games I play fresher for longer is I rotate between 3 or 4 games. Currently I play Crysis, MOH Airborne and SH3. As I start to get tired of one of these I rotate in a new game.

I am looking forward to playing the SH3 mods after I finish a stock campaign. One of the things you might consider, is if your a bit tired of playing SH3 you could try modding it. Mpdding can be a joyful experience and adds another dimension to the game.

I switch up on games when one gets a bit stale. Right now I'm spending more time doing frag-fests online with COD WaW. Once I get satisfied shredding a few people and me getting shredded as well, I go play SH4 for a relaxing time.

Usually when I get tired from the ordinary gameplay of SH3 I used to create my own (disastarous :D ) missions via mission editor just to see my FPS killed :D . And I hate my out of date PC too :shifty:

I hate when I get CTD in the middle of the patrol without knowing wtf just happened. Anyway..

I'm starting to collect my new rig from this month, due to this financial crysis it could take some time. But I'm hoping to have it built untill the release of GWX4 :sunny:

The Witcher: Enhanced edition - that'll get your mind off SH3 for awhile. It's bad, I sit down to play the above and 12-15 hours later I get up to get something to eat. It's soooo engrossing and just awesome. One of the best RPG's ever made so far and I'm just starting Act II.

If you want some medieval hack/slash gameplay, try Mount and Blade.

It's done by a husband/wife team (hard to believe, but true), and I think it's infinitely better than that over-hyped Oblivion crud. It's perhaps the best 1st person/over the shoulder sim of medieval combat I've seen, it's cheap, and it's great fun!
