You can get those from Costa Rica, and the tropics I think. It's disgusting but not deadly, the real killers are things like mosquitos that carry malaria etc.

Eugh, haven't seen that one before. As terrible as that looks I'm pretty sure it can be treated so it's not lethal or anything. I'm glad we don't have many of those types of things up here in the 'safe' north, only ticks that carry Lyme's disease.
