Those boats belonged to the U-Bootgruppe "Seewolf" and were planned to attack in the New York area (in May 1945!!).

The type IX C/40 is a very interesting U-boat, but surprisingly never caught as much attention than the VII C´s.

Maybe someday somebody will mod a realistic IX C/40 for SH III, as the quality of the games U-boat is quite poor!
