@LeonWest, I dont think Radar is showned at all. Just remeber that radar on one hand can have a looong range but on the other hand, a sub, even when surfaced, has a very small signature....

Not a good answer but at least something :hmmm:

The manual is ... well ... not that good it was a copy paste from SH3 with some minor editing. Makes a good coaster.

At least you found SubSim :yep:

As a long time gamer I have seen the decline of game manuals. Man, they used to be great--full of all kinds of info, some even comb bound. Then, due to printing costs which began to exceed the cost of the game cd, they got smaller and smaller, many times going to only a manual included on the game cd. Even back then manuals were problamatic at times--full of repetitions and info useless to the game and obviously written by programers with no literary skills. But it was the printing costs that did them in. Ever notice how magazines are getting smaller and smaller with tiny print? So it goes...

You got that right banjo, printed manuals are sadly, relics of the past. My excellent and informative manual for Silent Service 2 was a big help in getting used to this game. It had 60 large pages of tactics and history to help you become a sub commander as well as 60 pages explaining how the controls work. It even came with a keyboard template to help learning the control keys. Ah those were the days!

My sh4 game came with a tiny 100 page picture book and a brief written overview of the game, some of which wasn't accurate.

I still have my M1 Tank Platoon, F-19 Stealth Fighter, and Silent Service II manuals. I think I have Aces Over Europe's floating around somewhere too.

Though, keep in mind that not all old school manuals were like that. Mostly just simulators...and only some of those. I don't even remember if 'Strike Aces' even had a manual at all...

Agreed, lol. Thank you all. So far my welcome here has been great (all my questions and then some have been answered quite promply and politely)

And, as for my sig I know...I really need to find a way to resize the dang thing, other than photobucket...can't seem to get it shrunk without losing the text which is from Rudyard Kipling...

May just delete it...it was a sad nooblet's attempt at a rocking signature like the rest of you have, lol.

Here...try this version. It's just a re-crop with a different typeface. Can't lose with Kipling. :)

Torplexed,

Thank you so much!

I can not believe that you would go out of your way to fix my signature.

It was very kind of you and I really appreciate it!

I've been busy for some time now, so I just not got your reply...

I tried to send you a PM so as to not keep bumping this topic, but apparently you're out of message space...

Anyways, I just wanted to thank you...it was very kind.

I've set it now, and it's much better. Thanks again!!! :salute: :DL

Never worry about bumping a topic - your own or anybody else's.

Around here you'll get grief for not starting a new thread, and you'll get grief for starting a new thread. It's not all light and roses, but we do try to have a good time.
