Nope, no proof at all. The man has been very open about minor drug use in his college years. There is not a shred of evidence that the man ever sold drugs. If there was, I think the Republicans would have been more than happy to make it common knowledge. It's an absurd statement, slander, in fact, and anyone who says it should take it back.

Talk to the Secretary of State "elect".

AVGWarhawk 01-07-09 03:33 PM

Funny, I wrote 'probably'. I guess that was an emphatic 'yes' that he sold drugs?:hmm: Hmmm....my many associates who used drugs also dealt in one form or another. Oh well, he was just a consumer and that is just cheery OK in my book:roll:

Enigma 01-07-09 03:44 PM

Well, the idea that anyone who smoked a little pot was a drug dealer is, I don't know, ludicrous. Beyond that, by this measure, Bush, who has admitted to drinking problems, was also a drug dealer, because he smoked some pot. So was Clinton. So was Washington.

And all those guys as users is just cheery OK? Ok fine. BTW, looking at the list you have there would suggest he was a dealer. Even if he sold some just once...he is a dealer.

It's polite to cover your mouth when you yawn.

So where did the allegation come from? Yes that's right, from the Democrats themselves.

Enigma 01-07-09 04:06 PM

I live in the real world. I'm aware that people in college or beyond may drink a little, smoke a little pot, whatever. I personally don't think it makes them bad people, or incapable to do the job. I appreciate honesty about it. That's what I thought Clinton's "I didn't inhale" was dumb, and both Obama and Bush's forthright comments about use of alcohol and/or drugs was refreshing, and honest, and I appreciate that from a man. I don't really know what "cheery OK" means. But I don't have a problem with them being human beings, being young once, or going through things that vaaast majority of American kids go through.

I sold a BB Gun once. Did I ever tell you guys I was an arms dealer? Sold some M-80's once. Enigma: Explosives merchant extraordinaire....

If you want to run around repeating that Obama was a drug dealer, for christs sake, it's certainly your right. We are all free to look rediculous in this country. But there is no such evidence, and it is irresponsible of you to do so, if you a daily poster, the owner of this web site, or Rush frikkin Limbaugh.

First paragraph...agreed.

Second short paragraph...by law, if you sold drugs just once, you are a dealer. In fact, if you are caught with a certain amount you are legally considered a dealer. Even if not caught in the act of dealing.

Third short paragraph....did I ever state emphatically that Obama was a drug dealer? No...sure did not. You glanced over 'probably' not only once but twice. In two separate posts. You may go back to your unfounded soapbox defense of Obama. :D

Well, actually the Clinton lawyer discussed the electability of Obama given his admission of past drug use.

Quote:

Shaheen said Obama's candor on the subject would "open the door" to further questions. "It'll be, 'When was the last time? Did you ever give drugs to anyone? Did you sell them to anyone?'" Shaheen said. "There are so many openings for Republican dirty tricks. It's hard to overcome."
However, it was a McCain lawyer who wrote to the NYT asking them to investigate Obama's drug use and to "find his dealer".

If by referring to the Democrats raising the issue of his drug use, you must be referring to Obama himself talking about the drug use in his book, and later on the campaign trail, and you would be right. If you think it was initially leaked by opposing democrats as a tactic against Obama, well, I'd say it's polite to cover your mouth until you have you facts straight.

Thanks. And I'm making the same argument for Bush. It's not like it's political pandering. I think any time we use this stuff as making people "bad" we lie to ourselves.

You don't need to get worked up about it. :) He probably was a small time dealer.
