Hey, remember the GI Joe's with Kung-Fu grip? I was just getting out of that stage when they came out. I wonder who impacted that toy line? Bruce Lee or David Carradine?

And the fun with Barbie the Kungfu grip version had!

A fact I never let my mother forget. When I left for the service in 1977 she took all my Joes and gave them away! :o

I'd bet I had several thousand dollars of Joes and accessories including the Space capsule I even had a German and Japanese GI Joe.

My mother did the same with my complete, mint condition Hardy Boys and Tom Swift book collections. I almost had a stroke:damn:

What, no Cobra enthusiasts? :shifty:

Well I just hope that you remember that children in America are starving for bad guys and would love to have those, so be thankful, young man. Back in my day we didn't have evil empires and nazis. No sir, we made do with what we had. If we needed bad guys, we pretended to be at war with China or made up worldwide terrorist organizations.

I can remember when I went to GI Joe battles. Uphill, both ways, in the global warming! I'd like to see you boys do that! Now why don't you go outside and play, you little rascal. :D

There was also Eagle Eye GI Joe. You would look through a tiny eyesight on top of his head. Then they came out with the Bionic Man with clear arm and legs. Supposed wire and crap in the arm.

Thanks August! That's the one I remember, and the German with the long "greatcoat". All in black.

Dowly 12-23-08 01:54 PM

Hmm... TBH, I dont like the actor playing the Cobra Commander. A youngster like that is supposedly the mastermind toying with the US? :nope: Then again, a guy living in a cave, wearing a towel in his head is doing it in RL, so maybe it isnt that far fetched. :p

Wolfehunter 12-23-08 03:42 PM

I was thinking similar to you Dowly. Guy actor seems too young.. Unless he's a crazy version of Doogie Howser character... :rotfl:

Dowly 12-23-08 03:58 PM

Oh well, need to wait and see. I've been wrong many times before with actors before seeing the movie. He might actually fit the role perfectly. :hmm:

You're quite welcome. It brought a lot of memories back just looking up those pictures.
