I found this utility to work well and better than CCC. I did not figure out all the bells and whistles you can do with it. Hope it cures your ills. :up:

Having a look in the BIOS might be a good idea.

For the CPU, there are functions like;

C1E: CPU Enhanced Halt. "When enabled, the CPU core frequency and voltage will be reduced during system halt state to decrease power consumption."

CPU EIST Function: "Depending on CPU loading, Intel EIST technology can dynamically and effectively lower the CPU voltage and core frequency to decrease average power consumption and heat production."

Those are powersaving functions, and I think you noticed they do the opposite of what you're doing with overclocking. I'd strongly suggest you disable such funtions in the BIOS to avoid conflicts.

But maybe you already knew all that stuff. :lol:

I've got 2 HDs in a RAID0 as well, but it doesn't really seem to make much difference. :shifty:

My motherboard supports C1E functionality. Most of the overclocking pro's will tell you to turn it off until you get a stable OC and then turn it back on and see if your system remains stable with it on. All it basically does is cut the clock speed on your CPU in half at idle.

IMO, not a bad idea both power and heat-wise since most machines idle for long periods of time each day.

I've got 4 SATA II drives in 2 RAID 1 (mirroring) arrays. Mirroring creates a slight I/O hit. However, the machine is primarily used for business applications and I can't live without the redundancy.

I do my gaming at night to wind down. More often than not, staying up way later than I should. :)

SH4 remains one of my favorites. I really started getting into it when I went to manual targeting. The challenge and the subsequent suspense while you wait to see if your soltution rings the bell is what makes it work for me.

Just incase you don't know the latest ATT beta version has fan speed control for the HD48xx series cards, I have been using this version & is very stable.:yep:
