I think I'll stay away from the uber-DDs traveling alone - not worth it...

Last night came across a nice taskforce - 3 Kongos and something 8 heavy cruisers along with escorts. I was in a bad position to close (running parallel and they were going 20 knots), but figured what the hell, lets make a run. If I can get within 5000 yards (I know risky, but dark and average fog). At about 7000 yards I see what seems to be signaling between the ships... Only then do the projectiles from the Kongos fall short and far... Scared the crap out hearing those shells come in!!!

Anyways, the ensueing DD hunt was less effective. The only fixed my position once in about 5-10 runs, then headed for the convoy... :hmm:

What got my guy 'busted' was a radar contact... 3 ships, sailed into position and finally visually spotted a coastal guard.

Figuring he was the escort we continued to work into position. By the time we noticed they had altered course straight for us we popped the scope for a quick look and Yipes !!! Three DD's headed right for us.

Oh yea an aircraft spotted us as well
