OK, if you have different mods which have a modded menu1024...ini, JSGMe will overwrite everytime the former mod.
JTxE will only change lines in the menu1024...ini.

Therefore you have first to install all your mods via JSGME and then install the JTxE Mod.

This means also that before deinsatlling a JSGME Mod you have to deinstall first the JTxE Mod, then deinstall the JSGME Mod and reinstall the JTxE Mod again back.

If yoou take care on these rules you should have everytime your mini clock and mini tools.

I hope you understand this and sorry for my poor engllish.

Is this what you are instructing?

Let's assume I have 10 mods and I have just installed JSGME, but have not activated any mods yet (I plan to deactivate the mods I am using when we get the instructions in a format I can understand)::
1. install all your mods via JSGME and then install the JTxE Mod.
2. deactivate one of the mods (say, for example, Environmental 5.0 mod) using JSGME
3. deactivate JTxE using JSGME
4. reactivate Environmental 5.0 mod using JSGME
5.. reactive JTxE.
6. Repeat steps 1 -5 for each mod

If this is incorrect, set up the steps in order, so I can follow your instructions please.

JTxE has no to been activated via JSGME.

JSGME is a tool to overwrite files in SH4.
The new files are in the Mods Folder. They are shown on the left window of JSGME.
Before overwriting they are backuped.
Installing a JSGME Mod means press the right arrow button [->], for deinstalling press the left arrow [<-]

Also if there are different mods in the JSGME Mods Folder, it may be that some of them overwrite the menu10247x768.ini file. (JSGME warns before overwrite another mod)
This means that if 2 Mods overwrite the same file the first of them will be overwrited by the second and therefore this mod will not work correct.

The solution of this problem is JTxE. JTxE will only ovwerwrite lines in ini files like the menu1024x768.ini.
In the ini_Mods Folder of JTxE you will find the Ini Files containing the new lines to be overwriten.

To work correctly you first start JSGME and install your desired Mods via JSGME.
Then close JSGME and start JTxE. Now install the mini Clock and Tools Mod in JTxE. [->] right arrow Button.

Easy explanation - The JSGME Mod overwrites the menu1024x768.ini file with the never one, JTxE overwrite some lines in the never menu1024x768.ini file.
---- Both Mods works correctly ----

Wrong - Firts JTxE - Lines in original menu1024x768.ini File are overwriten - after this install JSGME Mod - the original menu1024x768 with the new lines is overwriten with the never menu1024x768.ini file - the JTxE Mod is overwrited and will not work more.

For deinstalling work backwards - first deinstall the JTxE Mod - Now the JSGME Mod.

OK, i hope this description will help you to understand how JSMGE and JTxE works.

(Not all Mods use the menu1024x768.ini file - You can check it opening in the MODS Folder one Mod - the menu1024x768.ini file is located in the \Data\Menu Folder.)

There is only one Rule - If JSGME tells you that Mod A overwrite parts of Mod B than you have to decide if you want to use Mod A or Mod B. Both Mods never will work correctly together. Or search in the Forum if some Modder has made a combination of both Mods or if there is a JTxE Solution.

Sorry for my bad english. But i mean you have to understand how JSGME and JTxE works instead of getting a list of only first install mod A than Mod B tham Mod C.

Thanks but I give up

I appreciate your attempt to help out. We have a language barrier, and I am not sure what you are telling me to do. Let's forget about it for now. I appreciate your help. Maybe you know a member who can translate your instructions more clearly. I appreciate your attempts to help me, and I am grateful for your mod that turns HUD lights green! thanks again.

Ok here is a link to a JSGME ready file that will install Chomu's MOD for the 1.5 stock game. If you are using any of the MODS that modify the ini. it is possible to use Winmerge to compare this file with the other and merge the G29 section into the MODs ini file. I have already done this for RFB. As before, if you want a file for a specific MOD and can't figure out how to do it, just post the MOD and I will make a file and post it. As a recent retiree I have lots of time on my hands and welcome something useful to do.

I am totally lost between your posts and jammimadrid's. Unfortunately, I need step by step instructions for both mods, starting from the point where they have been downloaded. JTxE is in the general mod folder. JSGME is in the Silent Hunter folder. From that point on, I am lost. Sorry.

The link I gave contains a JSGME ready MOD file. Unzip the file in your MODS folder, run JSGME, click on the MOD you just unzipped, and click on the enable button. Play the game.

new questions

How do you get files into JTxE. I can move them into JSGME but not to JTxE.

Also, my mini tools were screwed up. I had two pencils, and the tools did not match what they were supposed to do. I assume I screwed up but am not sure.

Finally, my mod that made the lights on the HUD green stopped working. I do not know why.

This is all a pain the butt, but I am still working on it.

See pictures above:
MODS Folder is for JSGME - Mods
INI_MODS Folder is for JTxE - Mods

in the former post i put a link to the download of the JTxE conform Mini Chrono and mini Tools Ini-File. Download this file and copy it into the Ini_Mods Folder.

CAUTION: this file is only for the 1.5(Addon) version of Silent Hunter.

If you don't have the Addon, try this older ini http://files.filefront.com/Mini+Chro.../fileinfo.html
