But is that really an excuse to act just as bad? That's very immature and, in my eyes, even worse than just acting like that due to being upset.

Sorry, man, but a lot of the jackass-ness of the last 8 years of Bush bashing has rubbed off on me.

He's not even spent a day if office yet though.

When did Bush bashing become fashionable anyways?

In the end, I think the problem is that I hate sore losers. That's why tonight I far preferred McCain's speech and was really annoyed at the boo-ers in the crowd. He was really gracious and if nothing else, he took defeat with honour and broke out not into partisan cliches but into a real unifying rhetoric, which is what I value most when it comes to places as polarized politically as the US. Now I wish his followers took the hint, seriously.

In any case, I do want a couple days' break. All this has given me a headache.

Sorry brother, but from your posts, you do not live here, and cannot vote here. So maybe you should not take it personally when folks rip on you. Needless to say, if skybird were to tell me we should/should not vote for BHO, I take it with a grain of salt. Cool your jets and pray for sanity....

Obama won. The american people has made their choice. He's the president, fare and square.

This is exactly how people have been acting for eight years with Bush, from day 1.

:smug: Not really,

It's how men have been acting always with any politcal/world leader, from day 1 they get elected. especialy when they not chose him themselfs.

He won, but he is not yet president.

And on a serious sidenote, i hope the secret service will take most extreme care of him. I think, and many said so on TV, that he is the most endangered president ever. His security I am seriously worried about. That skin colour did not prevent almost all white voters wanting to vote democratic this time to vote for a dark-skinned man indeed, does not mean that the nutheads out there became smaller in numbers. and assassinations are not being planned by the wide public, but small groups of extremists.

You have an interesting if not strange standard for "worst moment ever" in your nations history. :-? However you are fully entitled to voice your opinion. :yep:

From recent memory I would have thought that the 9/11 terrorist attacks on American soil were worse than Senator Obama being elected.

Or from an American societal level and given that an African American has been chosen as the next President, what about the Dred Scott Decision of 1857 by the US Supreme Court? The Supreme Court declared no slave or descendant of a slave could be a U.S. citizen, or ever had been a U.S. citizen. In effect blacks were nothing but possessions.

I'd rate both of the above mentioned examples as far worse than Senator Obama being elected as the next President of the United States of America. That's my two cents.
