Okay, you got me. I'll call them eco-nazis. Facism is an over used term anyway.

Nazism. :dead:

Okay, I understand that you feel harsh about a minor issue that you take queer since you are not used to it. Nevertheless, why the loud-yelling exaggerations? Is every policeman giving you a ticket for wrong parking commiting a crime against humanity, and is every ticket for jumping the traffic light equalling the evil of genocide?

You amercians are often so somewhat extreme! Not being totally liberal makes you an a complete anti-american, and talking about social responsibility makes you a complete communist. The star-spangeld banner should not be a pattern of red, white and blue, but just a black and a white square, me thinks sometimes! ;)

All of this is in San Fransisco, so they deserve their stupid laws. I'm just amazed how heavy handed they can be if you oppose their ideas (hence the nazi/facist) label. Oh and by the way, they (lefty/greenies) are rather free with their usage of the term nazi-facist, so here's a spoonful of your own medicine. Enjoy.

I just glad to know that the SF police have nothing better to do than enforce garbage laws (no pun intended):dead:

And this "social responsibility" is just a sneaky way to get into your wallet. Stay out of my wallet!:stare:

In your case one finger. ;)

Neighbour of mine used to burn huge amounts of plastic in his garden during the summer. Prevailing wind in my part of the country meant that thick black, cancerous smoke blew straight into my garden/house.
I'm not a violent person, so I suggested to him that if he continued to coat my house with his ****, I might return the favour.

Why did not not call the police?

Burning plastic releases toxins not only into the environment but into the homes of residents. If you could actually see smoke then you ought to have had the police come out...

I just like to add my council collects my plastics so there is no need to burn it. Any way I hate the smell of burning plastic makes me vomit all over the place.

That's Why this BS needs to be stopped now! I'm sick of having our freedoms nickled and dimed away to socialism. I'm not angry at you skybird, so please don't take this personally, but you say "you Americans" well I'm @$#$% sick of cleaning up "You Europeans" messes. If you guys (continental Europeans) have no problem with giving away your freedom, don't come crying to us the next time you don't have any freedom left and you need to be "liberated." You guys need to have a little back bone. All this stuff may seem harmless now, afterall, it's only trash, but they'll be back for more.

I was thinking about this this morning. There is a good reason that America (the US atleast, I can't vouch for what Canadians think) is the way it is and has the attitutes it does.

It's all about individual freedom. If we valued our "collective" rights we (every American immigrant) we would have stayed in Europe. I've live in Europe and I've seen how Europeans have a tough time understanding American individualism.

I'm afraid I do know what a nazi is,and that's why this silly stuff needs to be snuffed out now before this cancer grows out of control.

Just look at the smoking laws here. I don't smoke and I hate smoking, but I think they still have a right to smoke in their own homes and cars.

I'm just tired of nanny-state socialism.

nikimcbee 08-05-08 08:17 PM

I don't have a problem with recycling, but it's the fact that they are forcing the issue that upsets me.

August 08-05-08 08:22 PM

Just like popular anti-smoking sentiment is used to justify fleecing smokers for enormous and unfair tax revenues, I expect similar tactics will be employed by nanny state advocates for just about anything.

ohh boo hoo The economy will not have to endure thousands of additional cases of lung cancer and other problems in the future...

Don't like it? Don't Smoke or research the laws affecting the taxes and find reasonable work abounds. Such as possibly less taxes when you roll your own with can tobacco instead of being prison raped with the taxes on Packs..
