1. Is two hundred target ships zoo really needed in this game??? Couldn't less well fixed ships better do the job?

2. Explain me what the hell means "sunk ship" in this game (SH3/GWX/NYGM/WAC)??? I often read here about torpedoed ships which go under water after many hours or maybe days. Yet under what circumstances U-boat skipper is scored for such a hit? Never or if his U-boat is close enough or if ship sinks immediately? :o

Your tramp steamer is full of empty 55-gallon drums. It happened to Otto Krestchmer IRL. Took 3 or 4 torpedoes to sink.

Britain regularly filled q-ships and sometimes ships in ballast with empty barrels to make them almost impossible to sink. Just pretend this is the case as it could have happened to you if you really were a U-boat Kaleun.

Gorshkov has always had a bone to pick with GWX and periodically returns to spew bile and to troll.

Gorshkov's installations are usually screwed because he mixes and matches files that he has no understanding of.

For example... if you attempt to take the damage profile of a ship from one mod (such as the Tramp Steamer) and paste it into the Tramp Steamer folder of another mod (like GWX) you run the risk of disassociating hexadecimal identifiers that are REQUIRED for the various ship physics parameters to function cohesively.

A DIRECT RESULT of such careless file mixing CAN CAUSE SHIPS TO BE IMMUNE TO DAMAGE!!! (the same can occur with any destructible unit.)

Gorshkov does not understand what he is talking about, and he certainly was not present for ANY part of the development of GWX.

GWX users would be well served by IGNORING Gorshkov's disgruntled babble.

[Dear Mr. Brag, I wish you the best of luck in your ongoing hunt for "small shops." :D ]

Yes, and more. In the stock game there were only four freighters and four tankers. There were many types of ships that we would like to see, and people willing to make them. There is no law that says you have to use them. My complaint is that there are still dozens of ship types that I would like to see that haven't been done yet, and probably never will, unless I learn how to do it myself.

The more the merrier.

Correct me if I am wrong but. Was there not something about this in the GWX manual about ships not shinking correctly without the realistic damage enabled? Maybe you did not have it on or mistakenly turned it off.

Please read carefully below who really has "bone to pick with GWX", Kpt. L!

This argument is logical absurd raised to unimaginable levels. Kpt. L. thinks I use some special broken GWX version or I change it myself.

No! I use exactly the same GWX version as other guys. They also report and comment here the same oddly enough GWX behaviors as me. I didn't start this thread. All we use mixed-screwed-...-babble GWX versions or we are hearing things???

So please give us your IDEAL GWX version, Kpt. L! It will be very appreciated. ;)

I personally didn't think so far that one can create such outlandish argument even if he does not have any other serious arguments. :o

And of course "I don't understand what..." once again. As usually Kpt. L. repeats this standard "iron arguments" storyline.
Yet I must fess-up here! I can't understand something what cannot be understood! :rotfl:

Fortunately they don't have to obey this order...Kpt. L. is now retired.

Nuff said.

Gorshkov, please don't rubbish the Grey Wolves Expansion. Fact of the matter is the GWX team are here to support SH3 users as and when we can... So please... give it a rest eh?

Ironically, I just sank a small merchant with 6 deck gun shots. Three above the deck (including a quick, lucky-but aimed- shot at the rear gun platform), and three below the water on the starboard bow. It sank in about 10 minutes. On the other hand, I got in a beautiful bow shot on a passenger-cargo (part of a small convoy) in rough seas, evaded the destroyer's attack, and watched it drop back due to the damage. Sadly, it was going too fast to chase underwater, and after a couple of hours, it "fixed" itself and caught up again with the convoy. Oh well. While the particular details of my encounter may be slightly unrealistic, it was completely realistic for real Kaleuns to hit ships, damage them, and then hopelessly watch them sail off any how.

Gorshkov 07-04-08 06:37 PM

Lack of wolfpacks in this game. This alone makes single U-boat convoy engagements unrealistic or suicide.

That isn't the fault of the GWX team. I've said it before & I'll say it again: I really appreciate the time & effort that they spent on their project. In my opinion they succeeded in turning this game around (for the better).
