fine so far except it has borked my considerably large list of bookmarks... I have the backup from the previous version, but it don't like it at all.

Just got it , haven't had time yet to really get into it, (the visit here is part of the test run ;)), but what Ive seen so far is pretty impressive , the speed increase alone has been worth it

Now I just need my favourite theme's to be up dated and I'm happy!

FF3 is a huge improvement. Just gotta wait for the addons to catch up.

I couldn't upgrade ff2 to ff3, firefox would just crash during the install everytime, I had to uninstall ff2 first. Finally got ff3 running.

To avoid the issues Kiwi_2005 had I uninstalled FF2, so after installing v3 I copied my saved bookmarks.html into the appropriate firefox profile folder (like I've done in the past). This failed to show my saved bookmarks from FF2 - instead I had to import from html file using the bookmark manager window. It all works ok now.

After having evaded it since the version 1, I am now giving it a new try. So far it is not faster or slower than IE7. Handling differences are not too huge. I tightened the security options were possible. Whether or not it works better than years ago in keeping my HD clean and tidy, the scanner battery at weekend will show me. In the past, my experience was that a tightened IE6 did a better job in saving me from security alerts, than Firefox1. Handling of cookies and setting their options I like better how it is done in IE7.

P.S. I could imagine that people are thankful for Firefox offering me an inbuild spelling check... :D

Automatic spell checking works great indeed!

By default I had German installed only, English (EN) I had to install separately, via Firefox option. there are more than half a dozen English language downloads available (US, UK, AUS, etc). After downloading it, I had not to do anything additional, just admire the plenty of red lines under my typos! :D Works better than ispell.

XabbaRus 06-18-08 09:53 AM

Well I must be thick as I have ticked check spelling as I type option and can't see anywhere to load extra languages.

Skybird 06-18-08 10:28 AM

Ah, I think i know it - I downloaded it yesterday, not being aware that it was not the promised version 3 yesterday. I downloaded v3 today and installed it over the version from yesterday. Yesterday I was asked if I want to install additional languages, but that was during installion of v2.x. V3 maybe currently installs it differently, assuming you do a clean install.
